Change one letter {GAME}

I just saw this on another forum and I can see it getting far.

Basically, you start off with one word and then each person changes one letter to make another word
Example:

Rat
Hat
Hate
Bate
Babe

e.t.c

I'll start!

Cat

Cut (be sensible people :cheeky:)

Cute (People never follow the rules with these things.

Mute

Mite

Mile

Vile

Pile

Pile

Pine

Pipe

Piper.

I made up a game like this when I was young, though it was cooler because you had to try to get to another word.

I was thinking that, perhaps we should have a goal - let's say... intertwine (first thing that came to my head)?

The reason I said we would never get to interwined is becuase there is no word that that you can change only one letter of to get intertwined.
