The Ninjas soul purpose is to kill and carry out missions. That is not the role of a pirate. Admitadly, I most likely do not know as much about pirates. However I am under the influence they are not trained for years, not one or two, but 20-30 before becomming pirates, unlike Ninjas who are.Quote:

If we are talking about inside the ship, yes that would give the Pirate an advantage. But not on the top deck. Anyone can see that, there is not really much obstruction to view things. I have also stated numerious times that a Ninja would have investigated the ship before commencing in a fight on it. So Yes, I seriously believe that fact it is the pirates own ship means nothing.

Better than a ninja could because the pirate has to know these thing. I was not saying a pirate would 'freak out', and Ninja would not 'freak out' either. A Ninja is trained to stay calm in all situations. Ninjas are also trained on balance etc, you know, like monks, how they stand on poles for days on end? I could also bring up an argument about Ninjas on their magic carpets, but I would like to keep this realistic.
If a ship was rocking, it would be harder to shoot someone, because of the movement, that is all I was saying.

Ninjas do have absolutely incredible balance. As you said, they train for years. Pirates also do. Not nearly as good as the ninjas but they have something a ninja doesn't. Even though a ninja has incredible balance, he would not be used to the ship rocking constantly. The pirate has lived there for about twenty, thirty, fourty years, of even longer. They would be able to shoot targets with incredible accuracy. Probably better than a ninja (On a ship). They have been shooting at people on a rocking ship for years, ninjas aren't trained as well with shooting on a rocking ship as well, consitering they're usually on land. I have the feeling you think nothing can kill a ninja, if you think that, you are wrong. You also said a ninja would climb just as fast up sails and ropes (on the pirates ship) as fast or faster than a pirate. Ninjas are trained it that very well, I know. But pirates like I said before have been doing it longer. Ninjas train a lot, climbing ropes, swordsmanship, ect. I just don't think they are trained to climb ropes every single day. Pirates have to. I admit a very well trained nija might be able to climb as fast as the pirate. I just don't think after studdying the ship you can know everything about the sails. I know you will say that they do, because they study. The thing is, they don't study for thirty or fourty years.

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but I just don't like it that people think that because he has incredible training he would automaticly win. I am hoping you don't agree with those people. I have been talking to Flotsam about this and you're right that a ninja could sneak up and kill a pirate. I was wrong. But if the ninja gave the pirate a FAIR fight, the Pirate would easly win. and the v's were symbolizing arrows. The arrows were pointing to the truth, like so.

Okay fine I accept that a Pirate has lived on this ship for years, doing what he does best. But Ninja's are just as well trained, if not better trained, than a Pirate.
The top deck of a boat is nothing. Honestly. I have been on many ships like that. Everything is clear, plain, simple, easy to see. There really isn't much more to learn after being there for a day or two.
You're argument about the Pirate having an advantage on a ship is invalid. And I refuse to say anything more on it unless you provide some more detail. The only thing I will admit is the pirate having an advantage inside the ship.
Ships really don't rock all that much to affect balance, unless it's in a storm or on swells. And you get pretty acustomed to it after a short amount of time.

But I fail to see how they would understand how this kind of thing affacts them, where as a Ninja studies everything he does wrong. A Ninja would be trained in killing moving targets. It is important to the Ninja that the target is killed, and not allowed to get away. So incase the target is running away, avoiding the Ninja, he must be trained and prepared for this. Of course, a Ninja would never let his target see him, he must be prepared for it anyway.
Really, I don't think a Pirate is going to even see a Ninja kill him. The Ninja would hang off some obscure part of the boat (like the front, where it is hard to see). He would attach hooks into the wood, and hold on, then pop up and kill his target.
As I have said many times. Before the Ninja went to kill his target, he would have studied everything, planned exactly how he was going to do it. Make sure there were no flaws in his plan. And then carry out his mission.
Right now, were suggesting the Pirate has an idea the Ninja is there. I have no doubt in my mind he would still win, however. A 'showdown' like that would never happen unless the Ninja was careless.

Pirates are also not on ships for 'thirty or fortey years'. They come ashore. Often. They do not climb rigs, set sails etc everyday. Sometimes they will row, as there will be no wind.
They fact they do things alot means nothing compared to the intensity that a Ninja trains. A Ninja would learn as much as a Pirate does in half the time.

A Ninja has no need to fight. It is not his objective. He just wants to kill and get out, to claim his bounty money. If a Pirate were given the option of using a sniper gun to shoot at a ship before they engaged in battle, there is no way he would turn it down.Quote:

As I said before, I don't beleive it is pussy to sneak up on someone like that, when it is your mission. I see it as skillfull. (Ninjas are all about honour etc, I'm sure they would be more than happy to let someone have a fair fight with them. The only trouble would be telling him before your head went flying across the room. :D)
Also, Unlike Ninjas, Pirates may go months, nearly a year, without fighting once, and I'd have doubts if I was told they spent most of their time training.
You said that if a pirate had the option of a sniper and they could just shoot the other ship, they would pick it. I don't think they would, Pirates like the idea of invading someones ship. This is kind of my point. I don't know too much about ninjas but my guess is that a ninja would just take the sniper. Think about it. Whats the difference?
Option 1: Sneaking up, then ktilling the man with his sword, without giving the man a fair fight
Option 2: Killing the man with a sniper, withought giving the man a fair fight, exept this would be quicker.

Okay yes, I agree Pirates like invading ships. But say all he wanted to do was kill someone, I bet he'd take it - actually it would depend on who the pirate was. Some would, some wouldn't.
I think the problem here is we're only looking at the atypical, kickass stereotype of the ninja, versus the typical, drunken stereotype of the pirate. Consider a reversed situation. Most ninjas of their day were two-bit thugs hired in japan to kill someone, and several were often needed to get the job done. Now, look at a famous pirate. Blackbeard. He went into battle with eight loaded pistols and put lit pices of wood into his beard so his head would be swathed in a cloud of smoke. Blackbeard once dared one of his ship mates to see which of them could last longer in a cabin filled with sulphur. The crew member walked out, but Blackbeard stayed in another 45 minutes just to prove how badass he was.
Now consider this: all you Ryu and Shinobi fans can whine all you want, but Blackbeard was real and all those things I just mentioned, as far as most historians can tell, actually happened. Yeah. A freaking flaming beard. How many ninjas, real or fake, had flaming two-foot beards? Not a damn one, that's how many.

You have obviously not read this thread. We have not merely covered the "Stereotypical" Ninja's and Pirates. Nowhere have we stated Pirates are drunkos for the whole time.
I also have no idea who Ryu is, and Have only watch this "Shinobi" in reviews. These "thugs" who you call Ninja's, were probably not Ninjas. Merely, as you stated Thugs. Unless these Ninja's had a detachable body part, I am not sure what you mean by "two-bit".
Without a doubt, there are some "badass" Pirates, there are also deadly, skillfull, and even "badass" Ninjas.
I do not see how staying in a room for an extra 45minutes after you have won something proves you are "badass". That just shows either he was attempting to look tough, or just an idiot.
And unless you can show legitimate logs of this little dare, I have no choice but to assume it is a mere myth started but some crazed Blackbeard fanatic.
