I'm editing my first post so it says Pirates vs Ninjas.

Okay , piratesVninjas hey .

So , lets set the scene then shall we ?

I assusme you mean a fight between the two , and not which is cooler . So , what is the scenario ? Are the on the high seas in a monsoon , where the pirate really knows his way around , or are we in the hometown of our ninja friend , where he can leap effortlessly from rooftop to rooftop in the light of a half moon and come down upon his adversary with one swift blow of his katana sword ?

The pirate must shurely be outfitted with a cutlass and pistol and shot . But , he only has one shot , cos if he misses , he has to reload it with shot , powder and all and that takes time , enough for the ninja to break his brittle scurvey ridden mouth in two .

To make the fight fair , the pirate is aware of the ninjas presence , tho IRL the ninja would have been observing his prey all through the night waiting for the opportune moment to strike .

Im still not sure who would win .

Ahem, no I'm afraid you're in the wrong. You see pirates are stupid theives who sail. Ninja's have superior intellect and their swordplay is deadlier. period.

My god... what a scary coincidence... just yesterday me and my friend had this very argument...
Ninjas are obviously superior. Let's delve deeper into the subject.
Point 1-Hand to hand combat
Ninjas are extremely skilled in this area. Trained to perfection with an undeniable suicidal and fanatical streak, they can chop up any pirate like sushi. Their swords are so sharp they'd cut those cutlasses in half no problem. Pirates are weighed down by guns, eye patches and parrots, whereas ninjas are light and versatile. Before a clumsy, drunk pirate had time to reach for his scabbard, he'd be all over the deck in a bloody mess.

Point 2-Projectile Combat
Pirates obviously have the advantages of cannons. But canonballs are as fast as pensioners to the committed ninja. They dodje 'em with ease, sometimes scratching their initials on the cannon ball as it whizzes by. Ninjas, however, have a large range of gruesome and sharp hand held projectiles, which can slice a pirate apart in seconds. Ah, but what about the pirate's handy musket, blunderbuss or pistol? bullets can be troublesome to ninjas at point blank range, but as their black costumes absorb light, the light reflects the bullets (honest). Even so, ninjas are well known for stopping bullets with their teeth, nostrils and eyelashes.

Point 3-Boats
Pirates have boats... so what? Ninjas have magic carpets.

I rest my case.

Pirates would send Ninjas do the depths of Davy Jones's locker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember shinobi on the Amiga 500!!

I say ninjas. Unless you count Cervantes the undead pirate who once wielded soul edge before it was shattered by a ninja named Taki. Wait a minute the ninja won the fight so GO NINJAS. I'm talking about soul callibur, if you didn't know that then rush out and buy the games right now!!

But my final vote goes to the samurai, pirates and ninjas are both too dishonourable to beat a samurai.

Pssh...Those Pirate Nuns just have to say a prayer and the ninjas get struck down by heavenly lightning. And if the ninjas even THINK about stabbing/shurikening/whatever a nun, they get struck down by heavenly lightning anyway.

But that's the beauty of it! Those Ninjas can sneak up in range of those half-deaf old sistaz with no problem. And we all know that Ninjas never think before they attack. The event goes straight from physical possibility to past tense. There is no moment of execution. It's just: "Man I hope there are no ninjas around he--" DEAD.
Therefore, an intent-based lightning strike of biblical proportions bears no threat to the Ninja because not even biblical lightning can pre-empt a Ninja's attack based on homing in on a malicious thought process that doesn't exist!

Pssht. Fine. So a ninja could *theoretically* win a fight with a Pirate. That still doesn't deal with the obvious coolness issue. Not to mention the BOOZE! All ninja's got is that cruddy sake. Pirates have rum, whiskey, beer, ale, wine, lager and heaven knows what else, all in AMAZING amounts. And you can't trump booze.
