Can I hitch-hike with the DV stormchasing crew? Sounds fun! Though...so long as we aren't using one of our cars, we might as well give the tank-car-into-tornado idea a try. :D

I grew up in Texas, so I've been fascinated with storms since I was little. It's always been a dream of mine to ride with chasers at least once in my life. I know what their all about and damnit I'M DOWN!!!!!
And pssssssh @ Peregrinus, not everyone can devote the time of a dedicated chaser. People chase over spans of thousands of miles a season hoping to catch a storm and never do. That deserves it's respect, no doubt, but just because you aren't willing (or probably just can't) sacrifice that kind of time and endurance for the job doesn't mean what you do isn't significant or exciting enough. It's engaging the storm that I think is most noteworthy.
And I remember seeing that guy on the news. People may say he's nuts. I think he deserves a medal. :cooler:
TOO LATE, I'm already picturing you like Helun Hunt in Twister, running around and smashing up your car in some F-5 twister :PQuote:

anyway, lol at the tank dude
Hell yeah! I'm in! :DQuote:

Sweet! The team is assembled then - I'll drop out the seats in my Element to make more room and swing by and pick everyone up! (be ready at your front door with beer and umbrella in hand)Quote:

   awesome!!
almost as awesome as stormchasing...
LOL @ Joe & Licky Lisa! :)~
 Joe, that's fucking awesome! Now we SO have to go! There's a radio operator here in town with the most tripped-out personal storm chasing vehicle I've ever seen (well, aside from the tornado tank). And the guy's a tornado magnet. I'm not kidding. I saw some of his video from earlier this season - two tornadoes in the same frame, and it wasn't multiple vortex either. It seems like every storm he follows tornadoes. So maybe I can recruit him (or we can just tail him... you know, with our lights off, so he won't know we're doing it ;) ) Ok, now I'm psyched. We've got to plan this early for next spring or something.
So far, we've got:
Gwen
Tsen
Ophelia
Oneironaut
Burns
Tornado Joe
Howetzer
me
Any other takers?
We'll either have one packed Honda Element, or a regular storm-chasing caravan!
Heh, count Courtney in! :D
err well if your storm chasing ever brings you around here (it won't) then I'd love to get in on that!
HAHA JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know I remember howie and some of us talking about storm chasing last year or something?Quote:
and lmao @ O's expression...he seems to say "Man I need some AIR!...why oh why did I sit behind those two..."
I'M IN!!!!!!!
I think someone should find the picture of Nina laying sideways and strap her to the front or hood of the car.
^^^ or under the back wheel
TJ, I wouldn't be surprised if someone used that for their background. That's awesome.
And if tornadoes occurred in Oregon or Montana, I'd join the team. As it is, though...
LOL!!! Hehehehe... I'm so glad I saw this thread... sooooo funny, nice work Joe!
