Sleeping problems? Help?
I'm 14 years old and I'm in good health but I can't get enough of sleep. I always end up waking late for school. I get the alarm to wake me at 5.30 but I always end up waking at 7 even if I sleep at 9.30 pm. /: And also, when I come back home from school, I end up sleeping till about 7 pm and not doing anything. When I get the alarm to wake me, I just always hit snooze and sometimes I won't even hear it. This problem is really bothering me. I'm spending all of my days sleeping and this never used to happen to me before. I just need some tips because I'm missing out on all my homework and stuff.

I would recommend that you try to stop taking that nap after school and instead just allow yourself more time to sleep during the night. Going to bed at 9:30 really only gets you about 7 hrs 30 min of sleep assuming 30 minutes to get to sleep. I would try going to bed at 7:00-7:30 for a while to ensure that you are giving yourself plenty of time to sleep.

Are you on any medications? A lot of medications supress REM, which could explain your body needing more sleep. Do you share a room? Do you have any family history of snoring, or gasping during sleep?
