You're right, that store is total shite. :P I'm actually going to try and make it so I can play PS1 games on my PSP through the PS3, you know, just to keep busy. :P That is, if I can ever get around to updating my PSP firmware.
I do use the phone based layout, but I've always found typing on stuff that's not a tangible keyboard to be a bit of a pain, that's why I'd rather just plug a keyboard in and do it that way. Those USB ports are going to waste anyway. ;)

Actually there are quite a few PS3 games out that are good.
I've been on the interwebz with my PSP a loooong time ago. And I did it with my Dreamcast a long time before that.
Nothing amazing.
