Issues diving into a dream
After about 10 days of incessant partying and not dreaming, I decided early yesterday that I would stay home and sleep in my own bed. I had sub-par dream recall compared to normal, but managed to record 3 dreams. I did a WBTB naturally, I got up and went to the restroom.
When I laid back down, I visualized, or attempted anyways, numbers being manipulated down to 50 from 100. After some time, my body jerked and my limbs went to sleep. I saw hynagogic imagery and got the whirls.
I read somewhere that after the tingly sleepiness in your limbs ceases, that we should roll out of our bed and open our eyes. If we do this, we will be in our dream body rather than our actual body. I've never heard this before and decided to give it a whirl. I spent a few minutes visualizing my room and attempted to dive in. When I did, I felt a big jerk across my entire body, and opened my eyes.
After that, I did a few reality checks, I tried the tongue on the roof of my mouth, the finger through my hand, and breathing through my nose with it being held, but to no avail. My arms felt like I had been sleeping on them for hours despite me laying on my back and them across my chest.
I come to question: what gives?
