Tiny Body
I tried doing a WILD a few nights ago from "cold", that is, at bedtime, not in the middle of the night when it's apparently supposed to be the easiest. Anyway, I lay on my back, hands folded across my abdomen, and I lay still and relaxed for about 30 minutes during which time I began to feel as though my body was getting "detached". I could feel my fingers interlocked, but most every other part was beginning to fade away. I can describe the feeling as though my body were tiny. I tied to keep my mind awake, by reminding myself that I will soon be dreaming. But my thoughts seemed too busy, and while my body was relaxed, my mind was fully awake.
Anyway, the question I have is, does the "tiny body" feeling jive with the feelings of a WILD in progress? I never did achieve a lucid dream, and when I tried to move, my limbs were rubbery and hard to move.

I think what happend you got really relaxed.
But I would really not attempt WILDs without prior sleep. It's not that it's not as easy without sleep, but down right impossible. You will exhaust yourself and be disappointed.
Here is a great WILD (sageous) tutorial. It's long, but worth every minute of your time.
Another great time for LDs is morning nap, up to 3-4 hrs after you wake up. Some people have success even longer after you wake up in the morning. :alien:

Thanks! I'll look at the tutorial later today after work. I'm also working on DILDs and have had no success. My dreams seem to move at a high pace, and I never get the opportunity to do a RC before something changes and I'm back to square one. Dream incubation is another thing I've tried in conjunction with DILD. Shall do some more work, but it's not easy with a busy lifestyle, and little time for myself.

have you tried daytime awareness and emotions? It should help you with DILDs. Collection of techniques for DILD.
You could also join me at the Academy's DILD class. Happy dreams:alien:
