Did I achieve anything?

I tried to nap WILD today, and I would like you guys to comment the attempt, and help me out.
First I got relaxed using a fast but effective technique.
Then I went to a comfty position, and started counting my breaths. After 20, I was barely able to count with all my thoughs flying around my head. I couldnīt get past 30, so I started from 1 again. I wasnīt really worrying about moving. I swallowed, and even moved my body at some point.
After some time of barely keeping conscious, I found that I was able to somehow see my visualizations, as if they were in front of my eyes.
At one point I woke up from very light sleep and got up of bed.
So first of all, do you think that I was at least in the right track?
And how could I stop thinking about random thoughs?

Yeah, it sounds like you were on the right track. As for the thoughts, I don't really know. The brain is more active during sleep then waking because of no sensory input, so if you don't give it anything to focus that's outside yourself, it'll turn inside.
