Lets make some optional skins.

I know Ice wanted DV to look as much like a traditional lucid dreaming forum. Which the defult skin does. But I hate to say it, it's bland. I say we make several, jazzed up skins to use here. The origional staying as the defult, but some new shiney skins if we so want. I have experience with IPB and VB skins, so phpbb skinning shouldn't be so hard. In this idea, I say the team is split into several groups, each with a different theme for example, an ultra violet theme. The group would then go off and make some new bouttons, background and sticky/locked.etc symbols. Each group then presents a mockup and an admin choses which one he likes best and it is used as a skin. Just to make this place more versatile.

Just to make this place more versatile. hey, actually in the other thread we've been working on a new theme for a while (http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9709). once complete it will be our new default theme; if other people want to get together and design optional themes for the forum that's great, but they'd have to be able to do all the work cuz ol' santa 'dawg only has so much time.

Okay, but that would mean that the person who makes it would have to have acess to admin CP, which isn't really a good thing because it would involve finding members who can be trusted.

Yeah that would work. I wonder if phpbbforfree.com let's you do that yet. If not I guess a free web may be able to host it, or it could even be sort of a 'skinners' comunity page. I don't know.
