Hello Dream Views! Any opinions on my photography? Or advice? I am still pretty amateur, just take photos for fun, but I want to learn and am willing to listen up if you have any suggestions or even some critique! I picked my favorite picture, which is of jellyfish at a local aquarium. And here is a link to my Flickr, which isn't too exciting. Flickr: Mrs. Snail's Photostream I'm really looking for any downsides you see in this photo so I can improve in the future. Also, I have entered it into a contest for a scholarship that I need, if you are a super nice person you can click on this link and vote for it. That'd make me super happy ^.^ Any advice or opinions?

Technically it's not a particularly good photo. It's pretty boring, and looks like your average stock photo of jellyfish. Generally, taking photos through glass is a bad idea too. Where are the other entries on that site? Are all those 16000 entries for the contest? What kind of camera are you using? The EXIF data was erased for some reason.

Are you kidding me? These are great! I love taking pictures also, but I never thought of taking a picture from inside my car because I thought that the car would make it look bad. But you pulled it off great! You have a good eye. You say that it is not too exciting, but that is why it is good. You see beauty in the ordinary, which makes it extraordinary. And you do a good job at sharing it. I don't have any advice, I wish that my pictures were as good.

I didn't see the last two pages before I wrote the above. I don't really care for the dolls and a few of the llama (alpaca?) photos. But some of the llama fotos I do like. Also, some of the photos of people (friends?/you?) don't feel like art to me but just scrapbook photos. But I love the first page and I love the jellyfish.

Yes, I agree, it's not the best photo. Thanks for your thoughts on it, though. Yes, all of the 16,000 entries are for the contest. For this photo I used a Lumix FH20. On my Flickr, I used either my iPhone 3GS with a photography app, or my Nikon D40. It's pretty obvious which is which.

I love the jelly photo, I don't know why Marvo was being so harsh. I liked some in your album, but try to keep your regular photos out of the professional ones. Well, I don't mean to offend, but it seemed like some of those pictures were ones I'd see on facebook. Either way, you're doing good so far, keep up the good work! Do some nature shots for me!

Don't worry, I wasn't offended by anyone. I asked for it! Creation X, thank you! And yeah, I really am planning to sort through my photo library this weekend and upload different pictures. I definitely agree that they are more likely to be seen on Facebook, haha, but if I remember correctly I uploaded those VERY late at night and wasn't thinking straight ;D
