Writing a novel and I want to make my dreams a co-author

So I'm writing a novel and ever since I came across the book "Exploring the world of lucid dreaming", I've been fascinated with dreams. Now I'm trying to make lucid dreams a concept that can tackle the novel all over. The idea of going to sleep, achieving lucidity, teleporting to a setting and scene in the book, and pretending to be the main character has been bothering me for a while now. Is it possible? Can it be done?

I also have a few more ideas but right now I'm not chockfull yet, anyone got any ideas on how to use lucid dreams to help write my first novel?

Yeah, it's possible. However, I have heard that its hard to go to a fictional place or meet fictional people that you have an emotional attachment to. (i saw this in another thread). If you can go there, go to the setting and be the main character. Act out what happens and while your in the dream and maybe you'll find more ideas to expand on.

I, too, have thought of using lucid dreams to help me with my writing. I have long been trying to have mine subconscious take on the form of an individual whom would act not only as a friend, but as a counselor with whom I could discuss ideas, plots, and whatnot.
I have also thought of other methods, including playing the role of the main character, though I have never had ample opportunity to try things out.
