Sweet. I suddenly feel old...
Now... this drawing isn't completely finished, (it still needs a lot of work) but i thought I would post it here anyway.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t..._sketch_ff.jpg
The drawing of the cat (in fact the whole thing) is not entirely accurate, but I drew it as well as I could. :D
By the way, I'm sorry the image is so grayish. I was trying to give the image a purple tinge, while still showing the exact colours, (like in my dream) but all it did was dull the picture.
That's pretty damn good, lol.
Wow, that's really nice indescribable.
Look like the cat is wanting to pounce out of the computer screen at me. :D
Nice work, indescribable. That cat, especially, looks great. :goodjob2:
Thanks. :D
I appreciate the nice comments.
I'm still disappointed that I couldn't get it to look just like my dream. It was all tinged purple, and the edges of everything were very bright, but it's like I could also see it normally at the same time!
I was very lucky with the cat though. That part I thankfully did NOT have to draw from memory. (I'm very bad at drawing certain things from memory.)
It just so happened that when I fell asleep I had been reading my book about cats, and I ended up dreaming of this cat that had been on the cover. :D
Soo... yeah. Really I cheated. (But I did not trace it.)
That's an awesome picture, indescribable! I've also had a number of dreams that have a color overlay, usually a kind of russet-brown.
THat is nice. It certainly captures the feeling of a dream.
Not the best, but I forced myself to finish it anyways.

There is weird stuff happening, and some guy who seems like an insane zealot priest is trying to convince everyone that everything is OK.
Behind the priest, a pool sized hole opens up, lined with a set of large rectangular teeth. The priest is ecstatic, like he's in the presence of his God or something.
I pull out a pistol and shoot him several times. The priest falls backwards into the pit, and is swallowed up by the giant teeth. Then the whole thing shrinks into nothing, like it was never there.

I climb out a basement window into a hole in the front of it. I try to climb out, but there is only a narrow crack through the earth high above me. I can see daylight through the crack above me as I'm trapped underground.
For some reason I'm unable to pull myself out frontwards, and can only pull myself up sideways. But the crack is too narrow to fit through sideways. I need to widen it.
I start thinking about how I'm going to widen the crevice, and find tht I'm holding some metal claws in my hand. I begin hacking away at the earth. It's both effective and fun!
That picture is generally what the claws looked like. But it was way more balanced than that picture suggests. It was a really nice weapon, and it felt really good flailing it around.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5.../thechains.jpg
I see myself from behind, sitting cross legged in a spot light surrounded by darkness. Embedded into my back are three sets of two rings running down my spine. I am hunched over, as if straining to resist a strong force, and there are chains attached to the rings. Two slits on my back, form a T so the chains are able to pull away my flesh like flaps. Below my flesh, my spine and ribs are exposed but they appear as if made from a shiny black metal. near the bottom of the opening, Tentacles made from the same black metal are worming their way out, aiding in pulling the flesh aside so that they can escape.
This is an unfinished sketch of the dream intended as a design for a painting. The painting will be titled, "The Metamorphoses.'
Wow I'm glad I don't have dreams like yours! o_O Really good drawing though!
Nice Xaquaria. That really makes my drawings look like a pile of crap. I'll have to get some proper pencils this week.
That's Hypnagogic imagery. I find those are impossible to remember unless I force myself to get up and write them down. But you're right, it does produce nice clear, stable images.
I wish I would draw what I see in my dreams cuz oftentimes it's breathtaking. My latest reccuring vision is of me during my ascension. I don't know if it has deeper meaning, but it's very spectacular. Just sharing
No offense or anything, but a good artist can do just as good art with virtually any pencil (that is, just as good with one #2 than with a set of 10) and a bad artist won't get suddenly better with good pencils. Furthermore, if you are not shading, better pencils will not help. I notice your pencils are mostly line drawings. In line drawings, the pencil is not important at all. Even if you are shading, numbered pencils really do not help that much. Sure, they may make an amazing artist have an easier time and may even make his work easier, but it really does not change the work that much. Do not go out and buy better stuff in hopes of improving your art, is basically what I am saying. Just as buying top of the line skis does not make you a good skier.
Geez, art snobs. This should be a busy, fun thread. Why is it so dead? I obviously didn't put much time into my drawings. I'd go into detail about what different pencils I prefer and how I use them, but I just don't have time for much drawing right now.
don't worry--- I'll post a drawing!
The very beginnings of one of my dream drawings.

Indescribable..that looks like it's shaping up to be very nice! Certainly conveys feeling. Hope to see the finished one soon:P
Cool, indescribable! It looks very nice and dreamlike :)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ketches030.jpg
This is a spider that was in a dream I had a few weeks ago. It fell from the sky in a jelly egg sack that popped when it hit the ground. It had what looked like a saw blade on it back.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ketches031.jpg
this one isn't too terribly detailed, but basically an energy was coming down from the sky and spiraling through the clouds/pulling them with it. It touched down onto people standing in a soccer field and filled them with light. I don't know if it was pulling them up or possessing them or draining their energy or what because I fled quickly after this happened.
Sorry, my computer didn't post the pics. They are on the next page.
ooo, this is so awesome! Can't wait to get some of mine on here
Here are some drawings of stuff from my dreams:

a wedge monster that tried to flip over my spaces ship in one dream.
http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...jawmonster.jpg
a blue jaw monster from the same dream. I bravely beat it off with a giant pink styrofoam Q-Tip.

my outfit while I battled said jaw and wedge monsters.

my girlfriend's outfit that she wore when she went out and kicked the wedge monster's but. It was especially funny because she is kind butch and never wears dresses.

All of these drawings are scanned directly from my DJ. I can draw better than this, really. ;)

This is from the dream I had for the Task of the Month. I climbed through the sun (it turned out to be a small hole in the sky) and above were ice and clouds. I tried to make the ice look like it did in my dream . . . not really at all like ice . . .
Thank you. The dream was much more beautiful I'm afraid. I may work on it some more . . .
Very nice, AlexLou! I love your use of color. The subtle violet color in the clouds is awesome. :goodjob2:
And finally I have another one to contribute to this thread. :)
From my Water Dragon lucid dream.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...eg_Wk6_As2.jpg
Thanks, ClouD. :)
Honestly, I wish I could have gotten the edges a little cleaner. I thought about inking the edges of the objects, but I didn't want to get an outline effect, because I thought it would kind of ruin it. It does look a little more solid on paper, though, since the light from the scanner makes it a bit lighter and fuzzier than it actually is.
I don't know if you'll take this as a compliment or not, but your work has definitely improved since you started that perspectives class, O.
I drew this horse in a lucid dream (WILD) not long ago. I decided to try to draw it in real life, too, though it looked soo much better in my dream. Also, I used a cheap pencil and printing paper. :P
http://i29.tinypic.com/5armo9.jpg
I made a 'shop of Birdgirl. I painted/drew on all of the bird parts, which is why it doesn't look as real.

(May update with a change or two, later.)
Thanks, Wesley and Elis!
And that's really hard to say, Elis. It depends on how quickly you can pick up the jist of it. Honestly, I think most of what I've done in that particular picture is a mix between natural talent and little tips I've picked up from other artists/friends and whatnot. For the most part, it's just imagining the picture in my head, and the shapes that form the basic elements (arms, legs, torsos, etc), and drawing guidelines for them for positioning (all of my pictures start out with basic shapes like circles and ovals, drawn real lightly, and then I manipulate or draw over them to turn them into actual objects).
If you have some pretty good visualization, and can see in your mind what you are trying to make, then it's mostly about having the patience to get it all down on paper. Most people stop at "stick figures" only because they don't take the time to visualize what it is they are really trying to do (how big a head should be, in proportion to the rest of the body; how an arm bends, etc.) These are all things you'll get help with, in classes, so as long as it's something you're interested in, and you really apply what you learn, I don't see how it wouldn't be worth the money.
Now that I'm back at Dreamviews, I've started updating my drawn dream journal again. Here's the drawing from my latest post.
http://fc07.deviantart.com/fs31/f/20...nthony0857.jpg
I made it in Painter X, using the sumi-e and watercolor tools. It's a drawing of an underground land I visited in my dreams last night, I've described the dream in more detail here.
You'll have to forgive me for not being an awesome artist like you all. I mean, I'm fairly decent enough at drawing people - with a paper and pencil - but most interpretations of dreams or dream scenes have been done on MS Paint, so you'll have to excuse the general crappiness of it all...
Most of what I post in this thread will also be found in my dream journal, by the way.
This is how I looked when I turned myself into a woman in an LD. I'm not the prettiest girl ever, but I looked much better than I actually do:
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...amfemaleme.jpg
I saw this when I stepped out onto the porch on a false awakening. It's supposed to represent dawn (the black shadows, as you could probably tell, are neighboring houses):
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...Dreamscene.jpg
These are two DC puppets who appeared in a dream. The less attractive (although rather vain) one on the left later became a real woman, and the poor blonde one had to stay a puppet:
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...amPuppets0.jpg
This isn't really "art" per se, but... Hitler turned out to be alive in one of my dreams, and he took a dead President Bush's place as president. This was his "new and improved" swastika:
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ewsvastika.jpg
I'll definitely post more when the mood strikes me to make another picture. Perhaps I'll draw another dreamscape sometime.
Oneironaut, I have a few dreams I would like to draw. Seeing as you have some badass skillz, (lol) any tips on projecting the mental image to paper?

This is a picture from a dream ive had many times :P Figured id post it
That is badass, Serith! I love how busy it is. Very dream-like. Nice work!
Absolutely unforgivable!! :pissed:
Haha. Kidding. Nice work, Lezen. I really like the puppets. :goodjob2:
That's hard to answer. I suppose the best advice I could give would be to always start with basic shapes. Just to get where you want everything positioned, and an approximation of what they are going to look like. If you're drawing people, start off with light sketches of a circle for a head, maybe a rectangle or square for the body, and some circles where you want the joints (shoulders, elbows, wrists, etc) to be. Then, once you kind of get reference points, and begin to see how your picture will be positioned, start doing the details over top of the basic shapes.
I don't think I'm all that great a teacher, but that's pretty much the format I follow. :P
Not bad, smashcz. I like the layering of your colors. :)
thanks, it was a first to really use the piant tool in photoshop, i usually cut n paste
I'm really gonna have to start drawing my dreams again, I used to when I was younger.
Unfortunately I didn't enter this one into my dream journal, so I just have what I wrote about it on deviantart :( I still remember it, but it's so hazy :(
http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs28/i/20...aschoolbus.pngQuote:
I had a weird dream about a pod of (humpback?) whales last night. It was pretty cool, very long and I even felt the splashes of water :) I had my camera in my dream, but as you can see it was night, and all of the pictures ended up blurry when I looked on the lcd, even though at some point I got my tripod out. Bummer. Then I had a false awakening and told my mom all about my whale dream before waking up for real.
I keep having dreams about photographing marine animals, and my camera always has problems :( Gonna have to turn that into a dream sign.

http://dreamviews.com/community/show...2&postcount=21
This is the black smoke that followed a buring piece of hail that fell from the sky like a meteor. It covered the whole city in smoke too. Sorry it's on lined paper, that's all I had. I might redraw this sometime.
I like the lined paper. It almost looks like the rain and hail. Or maybe looking through a window at the scene.
Never thought of it that way.
That's pretty cool.
I might redraw this on a huge piece of paper (not sure how big yet)
Wow! There are some great artists in here! Puts my newb drawing to shame! Lol. The sad thing is I don't know how to put my image into my post. Its already in the my pictures file on my computer but from there I'm lost. Please help, would love to share the picture.

upload it to a website like photobucket.com or imageshack.us
then copy the direct link and put it between [img] tags
I think that's right

This is from my European Craziness dream...
My viewpoint was really from the inside of the covered bridge as I was in the band. This was just a quick sketch in my DJ so I wouldn't forget what I dreamed of. :P
Thx Mr.Pig, I guess I'l have to get a photobucket account too. Hehe!! Tnx again and will try!:)
Poog, I love that drawing. It feels like a scene from the Tale of Genji.
Thanks, RB! :D
Stick figures ftw.
Here's a picture from my "It's a Bird...It's a Plane..." dream.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...PlaneFinal.jpg
This is just a quick one a threw together. It's me, as Superman, throwing the guy that I was chasing toward one of the buildings we were flying passed. Obviously, I drew the two characters. The background is just a photograph that I manipulated in Photoshop, though.
Nice one Oneironaut :) I the expression ^^
I post thumbnail here too, my dreamguide Sharadaun

This is a dream scene I drew..
I just drew it with gimp, and a mouse.
I dont really like it lol, I have never taken any art class or anything except in elementry school..
Spoiler for Big image!:
yeah its kinda big..
If your wondering what the dream is.. here
http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...65&postcount=2
Oh so sorry, thanks for the link
Yeah, it was dark, there was a little more red though. Dark dry blood red..
And the yellow part, on the skinny walk way, was a piece that flipped up, so no one could get on the elevator when it went up.
in my dream, the guy fell through that. It was about 20 feet down. it was hard to draw that 20 feet down part.
and there were a few more doors, and windows..
I tried to emphasize that those block squers on the walls, were square rooms that went back.. lol
here is an updated version of my above picture
http://i44.tinypic.com/2a8olxw.jpg
No one likes mine :(
I like it, Mike. It reminds me of a level from that old video game, Super Mario 64. It has that disorienting 3D-platforming feeling. I'm thinking of the level in an underground cave with all the moving platforms and the lake monster. I used to love that game.
That is a shame. I still bring out my NES for parties sometimes. It is always a hit to have excitebike going in the back bedroom. It gives people an excuse to go back there and make out.
this was a lucid dream by the way. im in the iron man suit, that grey thing is supposed to be the bad guy. he chased me so i blasted out the roof.

awsome nive slash :D Looks so fun!
I am starting to not remember my dreams :(
I just realized I never post drawings in this thread. Here is a dream from a couple weeks ago, with the illustration. Lots more to see in my dream journal and dream sketchbook :D
-------
I woke to the soft glow of sunlight on my tent walls. My girlfriend was shuffling around next to me, trying to shimmy into her jeans without leaving the warmth of her sleeping bag. I unzipped the tent, and wandered out into the morning, shoes still untied.
It was a crisp morning, but I knew the clear sunlight would soon warm it up. I remembered the strange happenings from the night before. Our friend, Katie had traveled back in time to confront her younger self. Now she could not return to the future, so she changed her name to Chloe and moved in with her parents to help raise herself as a baby. We spent the night camping on her family's land so we could be close if she needed our help again.
I rounded a large rocky hill, accompanied by my girlfriend. We passed an enormous granite boulder taller than a man, and saw the entire valley opened up below us. It was an incredible view. Grassy hills spotted with white granite boulders stretched out into a shallow valley. The far side of the valley ended in sheer rocky cliffs. I recognized them as the remains of an ancient, abandoned quarry. The remaining rock had been eroded by the weather, and grown over with grass and brush. The cliffs curved in a jagged arc, reminding me of an amphitheater or stage.
The history and beauty of the place was so strong, I became very emotional. I embraced my girlfriend and started kissing her passionately. We dropped to the grass, and started tearing at eachother's clothes under the shelter of the huge boulder. Before things got too far along, I heard a car door slam, and footsteps. I poked my head around the corner to see my friend, Katie/Chloe's father walking over to us. We threw our clothes back on, and I stood to greet him.
I told him how impressed I was with his land, and that we wanted to hold our wedding in the abandoned quarry. I wanted a traditional Shinto ceremony, with blessings from the spirits of the place. He explained there was no electricity down there, as we walked down the hill to check it out. I saw my girlfriend had fallen asleep in the grass, so I left her to go explore with my new friend. The views were so surreal, I knew I had to be dreaming. My guide pointed out that his land stopped at the edge of the quarry, so we would need to talk to his neighbor.
I just now noticed the small cottage on the other side of the fence beside us. A terrible smell was coming from his yard. Looking through the fence, I saw the rotting carcass of a stag. Katie's father was going on about how he had to call the police to investigate his neighbor, who hadn't been seen for weeks, and had not cleaned up the dead animal in his yard. The carcass looked half-eaten. Apparently his pet tiger had been living off of it for the past week or two. I saw the tiger lounging in the grass, eying us casually. The low, chicken wire fence did not seem like it would keep that tiger in if it really wanted to leave. I was glad he had some food left to keep him happy.
All this time, I knew I was dreaming, and was scribbling down notes in a small journal, trying to remember and interpret everything I saw. We walked further down the slope to see the lake. I suggested to my new friend that he should build a small cabin or gazebo on this side of the hill to take advantage of the view. He smiled, and opened a door that led directly into the hillside. Inside, was a natural cavern that had been hollowed out and decorated to look like a sitting room. It had windows cut through the side of the hill, overlooking the valley floor.
As soon as I walked in, the dream began to fade and I found myself back in bed. I lay still for a second, going over the details in my mind It was very vivid, and I imagined writing it down in my journal. As I did this, I thought about how badly I wanted to return and explore more. My imagination took over, and I found myself back at the giant boulder, still scribbling notes in my small journal.
I retraced my footsteps down the hillside, and was surprised to see the quarry was gone. In its place, was a clear mountain lake with a rocky shoreline. In my absence, the quarry had been flooded. It was even more beautiful than the previous scene, and I wanted to cry, knowing it was not real. My guide was sitting on a low boulder, dipping his feet in the water. I sat down to join him, fascinated by the short waves that splashed against my ankles. The water creeped higher with every wave, until it was splashing up to my waist. A laugh startled me. I looked to my left at a beautiful young blond woman sitting beside me. She giggled, teasing me about my wet clothes. Before I could explain to her that this was all a dream, I woke to my alarm clock.

wow robot, thats amazing, i could look at that painting all day, its such an amazing scene. honestly, words do not describe the way i feel when i look at that.

I'm trying out a new technique, so I can start doing more dream scenes. According to post #10, in that thread:I figure the artsy filters on them will let me worry less about the super-impositions looking "fake" because they look more drawn or painted in than photo-realistic. I'll still be tweaking the individual components of the pics, as much as I can, so by the time I apply the filter, they'll look as well-related as possible. hopefully, this way, I can start cranking out more depictions of my dreams.Quote:

When I have time, though, I'll still try to do some single-image shots, from scractch, either in pencil, PS, or Blender.
Those look great. I especially like how you were able to unify each image with its own mood using surface texture. I've always liked the collage/ surrealist type look that happens when you start cutting and pasting pieces into an image that have different lighting and perspectives. I think it is very appropriate to represent a dream. It adds that disorienting, disturbing feel of, "Something is not quite right." You did an awesome job of keeping it subtle and unified, so the environments read.
I can't wait to see where this goes :D
Thanks, RB!
And what I kind of stumbled upon was erasing some of the filter from around key points in the images, to make them stick out a bit more. Like the face and shoulders of the robot, and the soldiers standing up in the Jeep. I'll use that more often to make some of the focal points of the scene stand out. I still try to keep it as subtle as possible, though. :)
I don't want to turn this into a photoshop techniques thread, but I have a million tips I would love to discuss. Should we start a "How to draw your dreams" thread?
Went back and added some pictures to one of my favorite lucids of '07. :cooler:
01/25/2007 - "Invincible"
Finally got this picture finished. It looks better in real life, but oh well.
Looks good. No background on the dream, itself?
Oh, it isn't about any particular dream. I just like flying in dreams, and one day had the impulse to draw something like this. Every three weeks I'd add another street (you can see the difference between the different times), and eventually I finally considered it "done."
Is that a plane, there near the middle? It's a nice touch. :)
Just did some pics for my very first (and probably my favorite) lucid epic since joining DV. :D
10/19/2005 - "Epic Lucid Dream"
Fixed the link, above. It was only linking to the first post in my journal, and not to the post with the pictures. It's all good now, though.
Wow Oneironaut, those pics are pretty cool.
I scanned a bit of my old DJ
Spoiler for 2000px pic:
Heh, oldschool

i love drawing my dreams

Spoiler for My dream painting!!!:
Thats a cool picture Yellowlight. I don't know if this is what you were aiming for, but it really reminds me of a blistering hot summer day. Awesome.
Great work, yellowlight! :goodjob2:
Thanks guys! :D
wow!! omg yellowlight!!! it looks like a photo, no joke. im having a hard time believing its a painting.
lol thank you. I assure you that it's a painting. A digital one, of course. I had a pretty hard time painting it, the trees were the hardest of all. I admit that I cheated a bit with that gradient-like sky, that was made in After Effects (I don't like Photoshop), but other than that, it's all painted (In Corel Painter, if you're interested)
OK, i'm new here, so hi.
Here is a picture of some hypnogognic imagery got while using WILD technique .

There as also a guy warming himself on the radiation coming from the circle on the floor, but I kept drawing him badly, couldnt get the perspective right.
My bro was going to eat some chocolate off, the floor, and I was like NO,STOP.
Upon closer inspection, these little things were on it

Glad you like them!
I'll have to have a dig around. And start drawing dreams again.
Liking it here so far
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_DIGZ37vtFM8/Si...2/DSC01190.JPG
While hypnogognic imagery isn't really dreams, it is a sleep related altered state of mind, so I'm a posting. And I did get it cos I was trying WILD.
I'm really excited by all the ideas on this website, I'm probably not going to sleep at all tonight :P
I'm new to the site (1st post), but I think drawing/painting/photoshopping dreams is an excellent idea (By the way, for those that don't have and/or can't get Photoshop, there's a free alternative, for Windows OR Linux, called Gimp Image Editor. Me & a few other friends that have used both programs agree that Gimp seems at least as good).
I've toyed with different styles so far, so here's one I made from scratch...

I'm working on another one, but it still takes me quite awhile to go over everything at least twice.
I enjoyed looking through all of your dream art (besides the ones that were moved or deleted), and some of you guys/gals are phenomenal artists (even the simple ones were great), so keep it up.
Hi Nfo,
I rather like the division between color and black and white, as it suggests the two sides of the human brain and their different functions. The feminine right brain is the emotional side, and emotions are often symbolized by color, and is also the side that is involved with art, 3-D forms, insight, intuition, and music. The masculine left brain is more into numbers, language, science, reason and intellect, which are symbolized more by black and white. The picture seems to have an intuitive grasp of that as it is.
And welcome! I've been thinking of starting a thread here for my poems!
I kinda like the black and white, too. :>
Though I'm sure color would look good, also. :-?
Got another dream done.

this was something like my 2nd or 3rd lucid dream. at this point, my skin slowly transforms into spiderman's suit, at the time it looked like the way spiderman's black suit creeps onto him. only thing is, in this dream i cant remember if i was the black spidy or the red and blue one, infact i think it kinda chopped and changed throughout the dream.
p.s. i think this was my longest ever LDs, it felt like about 30 mins or more.

04/23/2007 - "Aimlessly Lucid / Archeologist's Dream" :content:
(I might add a few more frames, later on. I dunno.)
The Lucid Ghost
One night I was experiencing SP. I was thinking about a lot. Then I started to think about ghosts. I wanted to change the subject so I didn't creep myself out, but then the face appeared. My eyes were closed and it formed from nowhere. As I saw it I felt like I was shooting in a fixed direction at high speeds, until the face faded and I span around only to find myself standing in a lucid dream. It scared me to sleep.
Christ almighty, Loaf. That's an awesome way to scare the pissbricks right out of me.
This was a lucid dream I had where my goal was to fly up and see the moon.
As you can see, I over achieved this goal and I saw an earth like planet portrayed on a rubiks cubed. I thought it was interesting so I drew it.

With my questionable drawing skills, comes selections from last night's dream!
I'm watching The Price is Right down at nana's house. One was this idiot of a contestant who bid $300 for everything, including a dictionary and a sumo wrestler. He gets booed when bidding $300 for the dictionary, but not when he bids $300 for the sumo wrestler. There's a replay (I think, could have been live) where this crazy guy in a white t-shirt and with some kind of writing on him is in contestant's row and begins by asking Bob Barker if he likes President Obama. Bob replies that "we all do at the Price is Right" and the audience begins to cheer. But this guy goes on a tirade about consumerism and the evils of capitalist economies. He disrupts the show until he is removed by security. Bob makes a remark including the phrase "bastards like him." (His exact remark may have been "It's not too often we get bastards like him on the show.")
Meanwhile, I'm in nana's kitchen and we're like ready to go or something. Looking out the window, you could see uncle s's house's electric box open and of some weird digital variety, with a green two-digit LED readout. There's some sort of solar-powered toy resembling a Wiimote on nana's countertop and it has red and green lights that disable when not pointed in the direction of sunlight. At the end of my dream, there's some sort of 80s movie trailer playing about a couple of kids.

Here is something interesting from this morning's dream.
"...Even earlier, I was with some old classmates from [elementary school] and we were listening to music from my iPod Touch. The interface on the iTouch was more like Pandora radio rather than the usual iPod app, but I wasn't playing music from Pandora. There were all sorts of songs I had never heard before, and I was skipping a lot of them."
I remember the album art for two of these songs. The final song was something with the words "I've found you" and it was by some band I can best recall as "Nee-Fritz." I drew the album art I saw on my iPod screen:
http://mpnqb.moved.in/dvforumimg/SCAN0023.jpg
The album art consisted of a color scheme consisting of an olive green, burnt sienna, black, and white. These colors formed lines around the diamond where the band's name was displayed. At the bottom were three of the those colors: red, olive green, and white to the best of my knowledge. The inset picture was a black and white photograph of the band standing in front of a couple of buildings. At the top may have been the title, but I can't recall if it was printed or if it was just an olive colored stripe.
Now here's what I haven't noticed until I drew this. The inset photograph looked very similar to Bad Religion's Stranger Than Fiction:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...hanFiction.jpg
I was listening to a few songs from this album last night before I went to bed. I think it's more than likely my subconscious "borrowed" from this experience while crafting the image for the "Nee-Fritz" album. The "I've found you" I heard in my dream also has a similar progression to the "yeah, yeah, yeah" in the middle of Infected. It's not all that uncommon that elements in your dream come from tiny, largely unforgettable experiences you had during the day.

this stranger posessed by the devil ( the devil was talking through him) made me feel terrible about all of my human traits, so he made me listen to a song and then i saw it in different dimensions and it started falling apart in chunks, and i realized how simple it was
then he caught me trusting him so he shot me, i was so shocked and devestated but thet didnt matter because i was just my soul in an instant
i (just my soul by now) was moving around violently trying to shake off the demons (sin) on my soul and it hurt so much i woke up. when i was a soul i felt the color red but i couldnt literally see, it was all just a sensation of pain
Music falling apart in chunks? Very surreal, I like it!
A character from this dream, minus his mystical glowing.

I look up at the cliff top and there is a wolf standing there staring at me. He is large and grey and black and stares at me hard with peircing yellow eyes. He suddenly leaps from the top of the cliff. As he falls through the air his body changes to that of an human shape, though he still has a wolf face and is covered in wolf fur. He has the strange bluish white glow of the pool and I know that he is the guardian of it. He lands, standing upright but doesn't attack or anything. He justs stands there staring at me, breathing heavily.

Nice work, Sekhmet and Exdreamer! :>
I'm sitting here bored, so I decided to give dream drawing a go.
Excerpt from this entry.

I was in the basement of my house. The lights were made from steel, and they were modern-looking fat cylinders that hung from the ceiling. But the lighting in the room was dim, as if someone had turned the dimmer switch almost all the way down. That was okay though, because I was sitting in one of two brown suede couches, both reclined, watching my mom put a DVD into the player. The television moniter was already on, and it was flashing white light every few seconds. Flash. Flash.

Hmmm. Looking at all this makes me want to start drawing my dreams. It would certainly add motivation to Dream Journaling.
I guess I'll start with the first dream I've got in my dream journal.
This is the part where I am in a brown room which begins to transform into my school's canteen.
The guitar is there because there is a part where I go to smash the vending machine window.
I'm trying to get used to GIMP, so this is a good way for me to used to it. Hopefully I'll get better over time.

Dream Entry
This was some time ago, but I dreamt this guy was crawling around in my bed ... o_o
http://frostnight.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2iowjg
In my dream yesterday, the sun exploded at the end of the dream. But it exploded in a weird way.
I did a Video Dream Journal, but I haven't written it down yet.
Video Dream Journal here.
It started with a normal sun, then a white spiral-ish circle around the sun appeared.
http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/8697/explodesun1.png
Then it kinda expanded to the side.
http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/3103/explodesun2.png
Then the white from the outside started to go towards the middle and the yellow went out more.
http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/4344/explodesun3.png
Then it pretty much exploded.
http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/1450/explodesun4.png
Then it took a strange shape at the sides
http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/3413/explodesun5.png
Then the explosion was over, and it left behind a white sun, with a slightly orange ring around it.
And there was pieces of the sun falling to the ground and hitting everyone. (And I felt it burn my neck when it hit, and I woke up still feeling it)
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/7347/explodesun6.png
Woah! Nice dream slash, so appropriate for 2012! Lol! It makes me think of a galaxy (with the spiral) exploding and forming a new one as it falls back onto itself. Not that I have any idea what an exploding galaxy looks like, if they even explode :cheeky:

:D erm, a normal dream that was kinda weird.
Drew this just now and played with it a bit in photoshop to get the right effect. Note: I can draw much better then this if I spend more time to do it :)
The dream was very colorful, very bright, very beautiful, and extremely realistic and detailed, so this picture doesn't do it much justice. The whole thing was quite surreal and magical. :sunflower:
It took place in some kind of ancient ruin with a man made pond that was long like a river. I watched this beautiful girl in a sky blue dress, with golden/fire colored hair that glistened in the warm light the shown from all directions, sitting in a small wooden boat and drifting in this pond. I followed her and just kept watching until there was an open area at the end of the pond. It was surrounded by bright marble pillars and very colorful flora that had flowers of every color of the rainbow. They also glistened in the warm light. The water itself, as it shown, was iridescent and pearl-escent at the same time as it moved every so slightly with the movement of the boat. The boat then stopped in the middle and the young girl closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Before she opened them, sparkling streams of light started to surround her, little magical entities, fairies/pixies if you will. She lifted up her arms and tilted back her head as her hair flowed around her face with the movement of the light. I was able to see a close up view of right above her head so all I could see was her warm, breathtaking face with her hair circling it along with the streams of light.

this was prob one of the wierdes dreams ive ever had :p
i was on some sort of outer space plannet and i was watching the sky and so other planets witch faces on them.
there was light comming out of ther mouth and going back in the mouth of the other plannet.
evry planet was verry colorful including the one i was on and there was like lava in difrent colors going of a magic volcano.

Ive seen that star before, I think it may have some significance. I met the character in a sleep paralysis I had, I had no idea what the shape on it's head was at the time, I think it was triggered by a drawing I drew of the shape earlier on.
When I saw it everything in it's vicintity moved out of the way so I could see it fully. Weird huh?

Oneironaut, those were great! Very intricate for a dream journal log. I especially liked Alex Mercer falcon punching a college girl in the tit, made me laugh.
I "drew" mine in photoshop. This is from my perspective and why I left myself out. I was floating through space and towards the moon. Unfortunately I didn't make it to the moon, the brightness literally woke me up. Everything in the image is exactly how I perceived it, lighting, space gas, stars, etc.

Yeah I pretty much had the same expression on my face, though in the dream I had curly hair, I felt anime. Because I was bored. I only colored her hair, to show that it was different from the guy's body. First anime guy I drew that is decent-ish. I don't like it, but whatever.
Ooooh Anime! I loooove drawing anime! Great work Lynn!!!

I watched a woman give her husband this weird motorcycle thing as a gift and when he got on, I took over the DC's body for a moment and felt a weird telepathic connection with the motorcycle and was able to move it with my mind, till he jetted off and the dream faded. It was fun though.

more dreams.
@OpheliaBlue - Good job. I have thought about having an artist draw my worst nightmare. I might try a photographic representation, but it wouldn't hurt to have it drawn as well.

Imagery from this dream fragment I had recently:

Here's a few.
Queen Kaira by ~Dreamer-T on deviantART This one is based on one of my memorable dreams. My username here is based off of the character in the dream.
Sea Monster by ~Dreamer-T on deviantART This monster was pretty freaky looking, but I ended up defeating them.
Drawing - fantasy-art - Evil Tornado, by Dream Spirit (A fantasy-art drawing) This drawing is fairly old and the dream is even older. I didn't really describe the dream much in the picture so I'll just say a bit about it here. Basically, I was a guardian of this city. Every so often this giant tornado monster would come out of a forest to attack the city, and each time it did I would defeat it and send it back into the forest by growing almost the same size as it and then punching it. Later the dream switched and I was instead in a game that looked almost exactly like Guantlet Legends for the nintedo 64. I went to various dungeons in the dream with my companions (the characters were played by my sisters and one of my cousins) and eventually died at one point from some purple swarm of magic glowing things. Later we respawned in a wintery area where a big tower was with a slide spiralling around it almost as if it was for a playground. On the slide were different coloured rupees from the LOZ Ocarina of Time. My cousin ended up running up to take the rupees and I follwed her. She took almost all of them but then I butted ahead of her and took the last crystal. When I took the crystal the voice of the old wizard played in the background and said that I had gotten the ice crystal of ____ (I dont' remember the name).
Once I had gotten the ice crystal I appeared back at the area between the forest and the city. When I got there I saw the tornado and a bunch of citizens crowded around. Somehow the tornado had convinced them that I was really evil and that he wasn't. He ordered the citizens to attack me and get the crystal from me. Because I was scared and didn't want to hurt the citizens I couldn't fly well while running away. I didn't want the the tornado to get the crystal so I shoved it in my mouth and ate it. Strangely, the crystal hadn't felt very cold before and not that ice like, but once I put it in my mouth I was able to chew it like ice and swallow it. After eating the crystal I escaped and went into hiding for a few years (it didn't actually feel like years). When I came out of hiding I saw that the tornado had tricked the citizens and there were now other monsters running around in the city, but I didn't try to attack them. I wandered around and then some of the tornado's minions saw me and chased me. They looked like giant bronze, humanoid bugs. I escape them eventually and broke out of some window to get away from some rising water in a room and woke up soon after(I've skipped quite a few details btw).

I had just seen the machinist and had a strange dream related to it and was inspired by some of Alex Greys artwork.
edit: oops, huge size, sorry about that!
Awesome amount of detail, looks like quite an interesting dream. ^
There are so many cool pictures here, I really gotta draw something when I buy myself a graphical drawing tablet, which I decided I will today.
Especially the thought of drawing my dream guide (once I meet her/him/them) is fascinating. A great way of motivating oneself both to draw and to have lucid dreams.
