if so you could research artists that specialise in Celtic art design...and ALOT of good tattoo artists do, because celtic tattoos quite popular (I'm searching as we speak)

*sigh* Why does it have to be called "alternative religion". Alternative to what? There’s a billion different religions in the world... And it’s amusing how they have the ankh as a ‘new age’ design. WTF? Anyway...

The Sila/Sheela represents the pathway into life. It looks funny and dirty to people now, but quite a few old religions worship the vagina and breasts because they have the power of creating and nurturing life. And see that fat little goddess statue they drew at the bottom? I have one of those.

Wombing, nice choice for a tattoo. You probably already know, but for those who don’t and are interested, the serpent eating its own tail represents the cycle of time, creation and destruction, birth and death. One is all, all is one.

And, in my defence, this post wasn’t meant to sound all know-it-all. I did briefly go searching but I didn’t find any galleries or anything like that. =/ When you do get the tattoo, post a picture of it!

I tired looking for you, but I did not find anything. I remember seeing this symbol in a game called The Longest Journey. At the begning of each new "chapter" this thing was in the background.

It's on the bodies of all the homunculus in Fullmetal Alchemist, too.

Two terms I kept running into were gnostic and auryn. No specific artists, but I did find plenty of pictures. Found out Alyssa Milano has a tattoo of an ouroboros on her right wrist.

You could also try going to various tattoo artists and have them draw some designs for you. I don't know if they would but it would be worth a shot. You could show them some examples and tell them what you want and it might be interesting to see what they come up with. You can also try working with them to tweak the design(s). I don't know how open many artists would be to doing that but it's worth a shot.

i'm not particularly drawn to the celtic aspect of the image i posted as much as the general proportions..actually, distant clone linked me to a version i'd seen before, but hadn't come across since....its one more step in the general direction...



i talked to an aquaintance, adn it turns out she looked into getting an ouroboros recently as well. sounds like i will need to enlist an artist to customize..

i'm tentatively considering the image above as the loose template..i'd like to alter the tongue in some way to increase its symbolic meaning, and perhaps inscribe various symbols in place of the ones already there. i really like the eye though..reptilian yet vaguely human...almost unconscious, yet perpetually open and all-seeing..
