Thanks for the compliments, I'll scan and upload a new piece tomorrow.
Merlock: I've heard that explanation too, and I don't think it's valid. The human body and mind are primarily adapted to communication and tool use. Therefore, you'd expect anything with a human-like mind to also be adapted towards communication and tool use. However, even on earth, there are many creatures with adaptations towards tool use or communication which look almost nothing like humans. For example, some forms of squid have very complex forms of communication, by changing the colors and patterns on their skin, and crows are good tool users using their beaks and talons. Because of this, it's a logical conclusion that a human-like intelligence could work equally well with a drastically different body form.
Goldney: I actually have no clue why I included the human-like eye. I originally drew this piece two or three years ago, and just recently re-drew it because the original was very simplistic and I thought that the concept was good enough that I should re-draw it with my current art skills.
Lord Toaster: Like I said in my first post, it is completely original and made up.
