Exo's Gallery 1.0 (Fractals)

Well I'm not much of an Artist, but I'm trying to pick up on things like Photoshop and Apophysis. So I'll post some of my creations here as I learn to use these programs more effectively.

You start by downloading Apophysis. That's pretty much the purpose it was created for. Apophysis is a freeware program for Windows. There are also plenty of tutorials out there (just do a search).

First one with a real name! Simple entitled "Chaos." I worked on this for about half hour-45 min, but this one unlike the others took a whopping 3 hours 17 minutes and 2.17 seconds to render, where as the others took approx. 45 minutes.

The first one however, I have to give some credit away as I used parts of a technique I read about on DeviantART.

If you like geometrical patterns. You should look into things like cymatics. Natures own creation based on vibration. And really a part of evolution that everybody shuns for some reason. Its also related to logical and creative thinking but that is another thread.

No where really actually. I heard of the program, downloaded it and started experimenting. I read some stuff on it here and there, that light green and blue alienish like one I used someone's technique for though.

Exo, I just tried out that fractal making program, and I can make some funny shapes, but I'm confused as to how I render what I've made?

Okay, I found it, but I'm still confused about one thing! How do I make my own stuff? Right now, I can only modify the builtin stuff?

Theres a tab called "Transform Editor" where you'll see a grid with the amount of triangles (transformations) you have in that image. You can add or delete, as well as modify the settings that create the shapes, move them around ect. Its a little difficult to go indepth, but I'll try to go into some specifics later.

Yeah, I sorta figured that, but how do I start my own fractal? I mean, right now I can only open a premade one, and mess around with that one?

I made this one, 12 minute rendering time, made blue in Photoshop

Well really it doesn't matter which fractal you start with, as they're all based on the positioning and settings of each of the triangles. Though to make an entire blank one, select one, open the transform editor and hit the first button on the left I think it is. Make sure to add a second transformation though, you won't get anything interesting unless you have 2+ transformations.
