The only advice I could give would be to try to darken up the background a touch (being primarily a mechanical pencil artist myself, I know that this is easier said than done). It seems like you can see some of the lines in the background. It's very possible that this is just the camera angle and the lighting, though.

That's definitly a valid criticism, and unfortunately it's not just the photo quality. The thing is, when I was making the background, I was in detention for being late to school too many times. My pencil tip broke, and I used a shitty pencil sharpener for my pencil. Basically, the lead was in a really awkward position and left the background (Especially the top left part) light, with a lot of lines. Thanks

Actually, when I did the drawing, I didn't know who he was. I just looked through a magazine and found his picture. Later, I researched the photographer's work (didn't say the person's name, just the photographer) and found out that the portrait I drew is of Rupert Murdoch.
