Photography Task of The General Vicinity of September 5th

Sorry for the lapse there, folks - I got a little side tracked by 'education'

Seeing as people still contribute to the other threads long after the week is over, I'll just make new challenges a bit less frequently and play it by ear. This time, the challenge is to capture sunlight reflecting (preferably brightly) off of or through some object. Again, these are pretty open-ended, so be creative and do whatever you're comfortable with

Here are some pictures I took today after school which could fit this challenge.

(Perhaps a bit hard to see, but the sun is reflecting on a window and through the center white fluffly thing )

This one didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but it is fairly shiny.

I've always wanted a spider web shot!

      X-ray power!

      The orb.

      Good luck everyone!

that's not all that open ended if you've ever taken a photo class

here's some sunlight reflecting off of something, and oddly enough, through something... otherwise know as the sense of vision.

      clear eyes. strong hands.

Great assignment, and some beautiful images!

Most sadly, my beloved 350D is on its way to New Jersey for repairs. I'm camera-less, unless you want to count my cell phone.

Maybe I'll see what can be done with that just for the heck of it.

Jacobo- I love the slow shutter speed effects from the passing vehicles.

PJ- 350D, what brand is that? Canon? I have a Nikon D70S. Would someday like a D200

Yep - it's a Canon, also known as the Rebel XT, the 8.3 mpix body.

For what it's going to cost to fix, I came very near "justifying" replacing it with the 400D, the XTi. The only changes are a 10.3 mpix chip and the self-cleaning thing.

My ONLY complain about the 350D is that the chip is so easily sullied and so difficult to clean well. That, and the blasted thing quit working on me.

Here is one that is not so bright, but still reflecting:

Here is one that is more bright:

Yeah I realized that, haha. I added in 'preferably brightly' as an after-thought. It does still eliminate indoor pictures with artificial lighting, if you want to be picky. But in general, the idea is to get some sort of sun-glare going on. The general idea behind this is that A) Sun glare effects are cool, and B) Very bright sunlight makes for the best photos of tiny things, and excellent contrast.

Here are a few from Maine that might fit the bill.

Okey dokey, here are my submissions:

They are obviously nowhere near as good as some in this thread (Hats off to Gnome and that first one of Meggy's.), but I think they turned out alright. I couldn't get any real glaring effects, as the only time I had to take pictures was around 4:00 PM, and I only had a half hour or so, but I hope these will qualify.

Darn, I can't edit my last post. Anyway, I took another one today that fits in with this theme really well, so here it is:

Edit: And no, I'm not trying to copy you, Gnome.

Two entries - taken with my cell phone! (My 350D will be back in my hands tomorrow.)

Sunrise over our valley - cold, frosty morning.

Twice each year the sun rises directly in line with this road. This was one of those rare moments - sunrise colors, trees in shadow, and the sun shining through me.
