So you make one side and then it mirrors over? It looks pretty good. |

Has anyone here played around with ZBrush? I've known about it for awhile but decided to get the trial a few days ago. I barely understand any of it (2.5d wtf?) except for basic sculpting and Zspheres but it's still a lot of fun. |

I used symmetry for those particular ones, which makes it a lot easier to create static models. You're free to just work freehand though. |
|
You can do the same in 3D Studio Max, it's called Lathe. |

Cool. There is a sculpting tool in Blender as well. Most likely not as good as this one, but comparable. Probably takes longer too. |

Well I can't comment on Zbrush's texturing or rendering processes, but the modeling is pretty straight forward. |

Here's an example of lathe: |

Ah I see, I've used tools like that in more CAD type programs (Although I always heard it referred to as revolve). I was thinking Lathe was some side program for Studio Max or something |
|
Oh, I see. Lathe is useful for a lot of things. |

Well, from what I know about it, it's mostly used as a sculpting/texturing tool in CGI developement (or whatever it's called in general). So for that it's probably one of the best. |
