Thread: Languid Language

So many times I've seen this page
Its blank omnicient stare
Only to turn the page with rage
And find the next page glare.

I'm laden to learn what they say to me
Their language is obscurred
If Chaucer ignored Canterbury
This page would not be blurred

If scrape and scrawl didn't mar its face
This page would be chalk white
Without the grey of types disgrace
This page would sing delight

For knowledge is, and language spread; that which is meant to be.
And so it's been and so shall be since eve ate from the tree.




I'll post more later rather than flood the boards with my poems. And like I said before any feedback is appreciated!

ok maybe I am retarded... eeer slow if you wanna be nice.... but could you explain this line to me please?

Otherwise, I like the word choice, omniscient, and laden.... gives it a little more dimension

just nitpicking here but in the second and ninth line it's should be its .... and I don't know bout the ending it seemed to not really fit

Chaucer was a writer in the Middle ages and wrote the Canterbury Tales.

The ending is me acknowledging that "yes, literature is here and it wont go away" and then I just blame it all on Eve for eating from the tree of knowledge and getting man banished from the garden. It's meant to be an ironic poem complaining about the intricacies of literature while without them the poem couldn't exist.
