I came up with an idea earlier that was loosely based off of some of Dream Theater's stuff such as Mike Portnoy's 12 Step Suite. Anyways, I was thinking about a series of poems (or songs, if anyone cares to help me put it to music) based on the 5 stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance). I feel that these have a very natural order as far as a songwriting/poetry perspective. Denial is a good starting point, anger leading to a climax, slowly breaking down to bargaining and depression, and then resolving to acceptance. If I'm going on about something stupid, let me know: it's 4:30 in the morning. On that note, I won't start work on it tonight.

Also, I've never attempted to write a song, although I have wrote poetry. Help would, however, be appreciated to either side.
