Tell me about the Presidential candidates

I don't know much about either political party, or much about any of the candidates...so tell me all you are willing to type(or all you are willing to cut and paste ).

On the Republican side, there's Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, and Fred Thompson.

On the Democratic side, there's Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Dennis Kucinich, Bill Richardson, Mike Gravel, John Edwards, Chris Dodd, and Joe Biden.

The highest-polling in both parties are Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton. Rudy Giuliani is a socially-progressive Republican with a hard-line foreign-policy stance while Hillary Clinton is a socially progressive Democrat. I'm not sure what her foreign policy stance is.

The rest of the Republican candidates have basically the same platform as Rudy Giuliani, with the exception of R. Paul and Mike Huckabee, both highly conservative and anti-government-intervention candidates. Ron Paul is further distinguished/ostracized in his party by his anti-war platform.

The other Democratic candidates have somewhat more variation, with different approaches toward domestic issues(health care/insurance for the most part). Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel are foreign policy mavericks(against the war), but are also somewhat ostracized for their fervent condemnation of the Washington political process and its favor towards high-capital candidates like Clinton. Obama is Hillary's closest rival, and promotes a reform agenda for many issues.

Those are the basics, as they stand, but the polling status of the candidates can change considerably between now and the primaries that will decide which candidates are nominated to run for president.

The only popular candidate that wants to get this country out of recession is Ron Paul.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

Ron Paul would make lots of changes in the government and could be what America needs to save us from being overtaken by illegals and away from merging with Canada and Mexico (or making a universal currency with them like is actually in the works now). Ron Paul is also anti-war in Iraq which is one thing I disagree with him on. It's pretty funny because whenever there is a Rep. debate on TV and there is a text message poll, Ron Paul always destroys the other candidates. He was in 1st with 33% after the last debate and Guiliani got 3rd with 12%. I didn't hear who got second because Sean Hannity was complaining about Ron Paul getting first and how theres no way he won the debate.

I think Ron Paul would help the country, most of the other Republicans would keep it just as bad, and the Dems would just screw it up more (if Hillary gets in we're all screwed).

The funny thing about him is he unites Republicans and Democrats because he focuses on issues we can both agree on. The reason is because we have the same general values, they're just manipulated by this tug-of-war and by different parties and media groups trying to set the stage what is "important." For instance, the news won't shut up about Iran, but if you were to really study current events Russian terrorists still have a better chance at setting a nuclear device off in this nation than Iran does just because their warhead storage is so badly protected. Iran has only gone nuclear because the United States continued to threaten invasion. They want to mutually assure us some destruction for their own security. Now that is threatening, I'm not saying it isn't, I'm just saying before they did that our nation just would not shut up about possibly invading them. They got scared and di what they felt ws necessary.

However international bankers are still screwing us over via the federal reserve, WTO, and other organizations and if that continues the United States will fall so far into recession we won't be able to afford to fuel our own cars, propelling the nation into a third world country. No one else mentions going after the federal reserve, probably because those that run it are multibillionnaires with enough money to pay them to ignore it.

With the warming of the earth (whether or not it's us causing it, it IS happening) scientists predict storms will increase in devastation more and more. Katrina was just a prelude of what is to come. As long as all the other politicians plan on continuing the track record of letting our economy get sold away and all our jobs exported we won't have the money to recover from future disasters that are inevitably coming.

Duncan Hunter was on the Phil Valentine show last night (it might have been a replay, my local station only has it 1 day a week so it might have been from this past week). He is a Rep. and seems to really know what to do. He doesn't have alot of money but is slowly spreading the word around by meeting with the people. I would probably vote for him over Ron Paul.

Mike Huckabee has also received very positive feedback, but the media's focus will be on the top-polling candidates, which all but eliminates any chance of them getting traction before the primaries.
