Ask me about C++ C++ is an object oriented language based on the old C. It is best suited for larger programs since organization is much easier with objects rather than just hundreds of methods. It is the dominate language for the Windows platform.

Ok... So I'm just going to get into computer programming, just find it interesting and it might orientate me a bit in what I'll do later for a job... Anyway, I started programming short games (Tetris, grenade launch simulator, poker ...) on my Ti 83+ calculator about 6 months ago, and found it intellectually furfilling... Now I'm looking for a support on which to program more and of course thought of using a computer. I started checking out C++ on some sites and...well, I've got to read so I get some basics. I'll probably ask some questions in the futur. Thanks for the replies, and for any advice you might give me. Cheers

C++ is very very different from Calculator BASIC. The language is different, even the architecture of the programs are different. I'd wikipedia "Object Oriented Program" and see if you understand it, it's easy once you know how to use it, but is a hard concept to grasp. Maybe one of the mods might want to move this to the Tech forum? They know a lot more about C++ than most of the people in here.
