      Tell me about love

Have you ever loved someone (in a romantic way)? If so what does it feel like?

As for me.. I'm one of those people who think they love someone when ever they get a crush... And later realize that you never loved them at all.. I am yet to experience true love.

Had a crush on a girl from age 4. Eventually realised nothing would ever happen, because at the time I barely knew what was meant to happen, nevermind how to make it happen. Gave up aged 13.

I've moved on, but it left me bitter and cynical.

Which is why I now go on random spamming sprees in obscure forums.

It's great to love someone, but it's even better when that love is being reciprocated. I've never been in "true love". Though I have been infatuated before. I don't know if I want to be in the cocaine-addictive type love. I just don't see myself as that type of guy or settling down anytime soon.

      p.s. maybe later on though...

It all depends on what your opinion of "love" is.
But i don't believe i have been in love. I haven't had a relationship that's lasted anywhere near long enough for those kind of feelings, in my opinion anyway

An overused word that our culture likes to make money off of and leads to many sad, unfulfilling marriages (with a few exceptions)

Though you occassionally do get "true love", I guess...your lucky if you find that without doubting it in any way though, in my opinion.

Well anyway I'll give my meaning.
Something that doesn't exist in this world anymore. Unfortunate, but true.

At least this is what I think now... I wonder if someone will change it, but I doubt it greatly.

Xox, how does love not exist anymore?!

      By definition love is timeless.

I know love, and I'm sure it exists.

I don't think love has ever changed. It's deeply ingrained into the human psyche.

My mistake, love does exist. Although it's slowly fading from this world. That, I do believe.

Also in my opinion, romantic love is not pure anymore these days.

and hmmm Im really confused on this subject, dont listen to me

I kind of agree... Like a couple hundred years ago romance seemed so much more real... Like the movie pride and prejudice.

Romance different to love? The ways in which we show our love is certainly different, as it is influenced by the culture we live in; the idea that romance is dying is more that it is changing, the traditional courting of the day has been replaced by newer generations and their own rituals.

      ...anyway, that's my 'pinion.

I think I've been on the verge of love. For teens.. gah, this is going to be hard to explain.. Let me put it in the words of Misuer Sloth...

"Why do parents say, 'You're not in love.' when you know you are?
Because the love... the feelings... and emotions that you feel as a teenager are stronger than those that you feel as an adult. It takes me years and years of being with one person to feel the kind of love for them that I had for EVERYbody when I was a teenager.
Someone once told me, 'If you can live through being a teenager, you can live through anything.
I know that it sounds insulting to hear this, but the best thing to do as a teenager is don't forget, when you're feeling these things, that your emotions are at their most delicate and powerful right now. Next time you are at your school, look around. Look at the other kids. Look how emotional and dramatic everything is to them. Does she love him? Does he love her? Does he like you? Did they fuck? Adults don't act like that. See past the feelings. Please. I promise you that if you can get past them, you'll see that these things don't matter."

No, I did not mean that. Love will never change. The thing most consider to be in "love" today, is not love.

      Love feels like floating.

      And sparkles.

      And sunshine.

And kitties and puppies and rainbows.

Sadly I share your opinion Xox..I was afraid to make it blunt though...Lust, yes surely...commitment, yes of course, but love....mmm I don't think so...and I almost feel "love" will lead to missing out on what life has to offer...even if it does seem nice and true, and may even lead to misery.

I would call this "love", long term- lust for someone and when that fades, moral obligation to stay with them...

I'm keeping an open mind though..perhaps I'll think differently one day... :/

You all keep saying that there used to be love, but your basing this entirely on romantic literacy, like romeo and juliet and pride and prejudice etc. but nowadays there is far far less random promiscuousness, woman have rights now.

      Of course there is love.

      Love... has four letters.

Starry starry night, paint your pallet blue and gray,
Look out on a summers day,
with eyes that know the darkness of my soul.
