Tell me what I could use for Weights

Okay, I'm trying to make some weighted wrist straps like ones used for weight lifting, but I want to wear them on a regular basis so I'm making them more like leather bracers with weights in them. My question is, does anyone know of something that would be easy to use for weights? I'm looking for flat metal pieces about 4 or five inches long and about 1in wide that are commonly used for some other purpose so that they will be easy to find and I won't have to get them custom made.

I'm just going to say those weight bands that you put around your wrists and ankles are terrible ideas. They do a number on your joints, and don't really accomplish much else. If you want to get stronger, work out, I can try to point you in the direction as far as exercises to accomplish whatever you want. So why do you want to wear them anyway?

Yeah those constant weights sound like a get-ripped-quick scheme to me... working out isn't too bad, just throw together a plan (mine goes for 3 months) consisting of exercises to work the muscles you want to get bigger/stronger.

      LD Tasks:
      [ ] Have a bloody LD
[ ] Play lead guitar and/or vocals in a rock concert with TONS of people (yeah I've been playing a lot of Rock Band lately... lol)
[ ] Beat the tar out of select people...

      I agree with MrBeezly.

I think the best weight is your own body. Get a pull-up bar, and you've basically got a gym for all your muscles

Yeah a pull-up bar and a very basic set of free hand weights mixed in with push-ups and somewhere to run will go a LONG way when used correctly.

However it's your choice, so I'll actually answer the question you're asking now
I don't know if this idea is any good or just crap, but maybe just those lead bars made for melting down and weighting other things... you would definitely want to cover them very well or something though. I just thought it fit the weight and shape criteria.

Thanks, none of you answered my question. I know how to work out; and I do it on a regular basis. I hate to be rude, but if you don't have an answer to my question and instead simply want to tell me not to do the thing I'm asking about, there's no need to comment. I have all of the information on working out that I need.

Edit; except I guess Limo, who still felt the need to throw some unasked for info in there. The rest of you; completely useless.
