It is generally agreed upon that humans are glorified animals. so i believe that the basic fundamentals of instinct hold true to our own minds. like all animals we have a sex drive. it is part of our survival instincts. it tells us to reproduce. As humans we have removed ourselves from an environment where life is an everyday struggle to live, and as a result our individual instincts have been altered. meaning, some people eat incessantly while others don't eat enough. Some people do not crave sex with the other gender. some people jump off things for fun.

this leaves me thinking that some of the many problems regarding society are obviously a result of the way that we live. we make machines do everything for us. everything is super industrialized. super efficient. super fast. as a result our lives are "easier". Yet at the same time many of our problems are the result of the environment we've created for ourselves.

is this valid?
