I think you give someone any middle name you want. Just try to keep in mind that people have to go by their first names and be known as that... so what might sound good to you could make the kid the butt of a lot of jokes in the sometimes cruel world that is school.

I'd say just go with the traditional names for the kids' sake. . . Kids with weird names do get bullied/ridiculed/harassed over it a lot of times.
While there are some great unique names out there, make them middle names, not first names.
