Tell me about Taxes

Yeah, so I'm going to get a job...eventually...and I have no idea how the world of taxes works. I've heard they deduct from your paycheck and also that you have to pay income taxes.

We need at least some taxes so that the government is effective at its job. You know, serving the people and such. Police, Fire department. That sort of thing. If only we could clean up the laws and fix the public school system...

yeah but those jobs can be supported even if we didnt have an income tax. I am fine with taxes such as customs, duties and such, or other taxes. But income, property, and in my opinion sales taxes are all completely immoral and contrary to the beliefs of the Founders. If there is a 20% income tax, that means 20% of the work you do throughout the year is slave labor. Also, the government does not have the right to charge you rent on your property that you have legitimately purchased and are the rightful owner of.

You get paycheck deductions from our bankrupt SS (social security) They took about 80 bucks from each of my checks AND I WONT SEE A DIME OF IT EVER AGAIN! Then this other thing called 'FIT' deducted another 60 bucks or so each week, then a few other deductions. Oh yea, then you need to pay taxes on just about everything else that you buy (Sales tax) I hear rumours soon that we will be required to install a meter on our cars to measure our co2 output, to tax us on Carbon use. If only we could clean up the laws and fix the public school system... BTW most of those services are paid via local taxes. I repeat INCOME TAX DOES NOT GOTO ROADS BRIDGES COPS OR FIREFIGHTERS. The income tax is to pay for the perpetual debt created by the federal reserve, so pretty much we pay bankers debt with our labor.
