And yes, I've been playing clarinet in my school band for a few years now. But I'm under no illusions. I'm a mediocre musician, and I'm the first to admit it (no grasp of music theory, tone deaf too).
It's good that you have. Even if it's not long. One of the main aspects about classical music is the technicality of it all. More often than not, you can hear real displays of skill and musical strength, as opposed to hooks and catchy beats in more recent music. I'm not dissing it, it's simply less important to be well skilled to be a good musician in the last few years.

Also, there's a couple different timelines here. Are we looking at Baroque? Modern? Romantic? All of the above?
And I'm still not sure what this thread is for, should I just namedrop all my favorite classical composers?
