      Any advice for me?

I'm a complete beginner to lucid dreaming and I have never had a lucid dream. Last night though I think I got pretty close. I can remember bits and pieces of 3 separate dreams.

Dream 1: I went to the college bookstore to look for books about lucid dreaming! I can't believe I didn't question whether I was dreaming or not! I walked to the science section to find a book but the science section was in a different place than it is normally. I still didn't question if I was dreaming. Finally i found the science section but the shelf was empty. The rest of the dream was pretty normal.

Dream 2: All I remember is my friend asked me what the name of a tobacco shop in downtown was called. He asked "Is it called Weedworks?" I was like "no, it's called Dreamworks." I shoulda done an RC upon bringing up the word dream.

Dream 3: I remember I went to the store to buy carrots. I realized after I woke up that I had read the previous day that carrots have beta carotine which is good for inducing lucid dreams.

All 3 dreams had something to do with me wanting to lucid dream! How do I make the transition and get myself to question my reality? I've been doing RC's randomly during the day. You think it's just a matter of time? Thanks.

I know what you mean. I've had a lot more dreams about lucid dreaming, than actual lucid dreams. I've only gotten lucid once in the past 7 months, so I'm not qualified to tell you how to make the transition.

But I can tell you that in my last lucid dream, I didn't become lucid from a reality check, it was because in my dream it was night time and I remembered I was taking a nap in the middle of the day, I just realized it couldn't be that dark outside and knew I had to be dreaming.

To be honest I've been pretty lazy with doing RC's, but I think keeping my Dream Journal every day just helps me be more aware in my dreams in general and that's how I went lucid last time. That's the best advice I can give ya.

      Anyway, welcome to the forum!

Sarvate, as you said, I think it's just a matter of time...and maybe not too long for you since it sounds like you're making "connections". When I first attempted having Lucid Dreams last November, that is exactly the same thing that was happening to me. I average about 3-4 per month now with a high of 7 in February. Here's how it went for me back when I started:

In my dreams, I would see books entitled "Lucid Dreaming" and many times I wanted to tell people in my dreams about lucid dreaming only to get interrupted before I could.

After a couple weeks of that, I started having moments of lucidity where I knew that I was dreaming but would wake up immediately. In those moments, I would do things like turning off switches without touching them, repairing broken things just by saying that they didn't have to be broken since I was dreaming.......but waking up right after that.

After about a month, I had my first "real" lucid dream, a flying dream. It was a feeling I will never forget, the greatest rush that I've ever felt. The lucid moments that I had were nothing in comparison...you will know when you have your first real lucid dream....trust me....

      Hope this helps,

get a watch and make it go off every like hour or 2 and do a reality check then. Another you can do is be aware of your surroundings. Look at the small details of everything and try to get everything in one vision. Also when you do a reality check make sure you stop whatever you are doing and look around. Whenever in my dreams i stop and look around i instantly become lucid.
