      third-person RC's?

ok... here's my problem: most of the RC's posted can't work for me because most of the time I'm in third-person (isn't that a trip? XD) I can also read normally in my dreams and do so all the time.

this may or may not be because I have asperger's syndrome- my brain isn't wired like normal.
[speculation=unfounded]ie: normally (from what I've heard) you can't read in a dream because dreaming is left-brain while reading is right-brain. I can because people with asperger's have better right/left brain interaction.[/speculation]

so my question becomes: how do I tell if I'm dreaming? I guess the obvious one would be "am I, or was I recently, in third-person?" (it varies from moment to moment,) but that leans heavily on memory, which can be fuzzy in dreams. obviously, if I see something that makes me question the reality of my dream, I will snap back into first-person, forgetting that I was in third-person.

what would make me question it in the first place? habit I suppose. I cannot use physical reminders- I wear a religious emblem and haven't taken it off for years but it still doesn't show up on my dream-body. sometimes, in my dream, I'm not even me.

I think I may have become semi-lucid last night. (which brought on the interest)

it sort of disturbed me- but mostly due to my own twisted mind. a demon wearing my mother's face asked me "how much is your life worth? how many people would you sacrifice to live?"

This is definitely an interesting question!

I would have thought your best bet is if you pick some physical sign that you don't really have any prior association with, a random animal would probaly work well. And then in the hour or so before going to sleep look at some pictures of this animal or read about it odds are it will show up in a dream. Usually the content of our experinces in the last hour or so before going to sleep heavily influence our dream content that night. Because the experince of this animal will be novel to you, your brain will need to form new assoications to it (which it will proceess while sleeping) and so it shouldm't be overlooked in your dream content like with your religous emblem.

Also since the animal would be external to you whether you view yourself in the third or first perosn within your dream shouldn't be a problem. It might also be helpful to repeat some kind of phrase like ' whenever i see a (insert animal name) i know i am dreaming' while looking at/reading about the animal beforehand.

One more thought if you do this over a few days it would probably help to always look at/read about the animal in the same situation before bed, e.g. in a particular chair. That way you could ammend the phrase to 'whenver i see a (insert animal) and am not sitting on my bedroom chair I know I am dreaming'. The idea is to create an enivornment where no matter how or where this animal shows up you can know it is a dream expect for the very specific circumstance you are using to induce the dream content.

Hope that helps and good luck!

hmmm... oh wait! I think I got it! I'm working and in college. therefore I don't have time to date. therefore, if it involves sex, I'm dreaming therefore whenever I see my... thing... I tell myself "I'm dreaming!"
