Use your alarm to condition your brain for lucids

I discovered a technique that works for me for attaining lucidity. Here is how you do it if you want to try. It also helps dream recall exceptionally well.

      What you will need:
      -alarm clock
-dream journal (optional, but very helpful)
-be willing to lose a little sleep

      Method:
First, set your alarm for a time about 4 or 5 hours after you go to sleep. It works ever better if you can set 2 or 3 alarms for intervals like 4 hours, 5 hours, and 6 hours after you go to sleep. When the alarm goes off, have your dream journal handy to record any dreams you might have been having. Then go back to sleep. It's that easy. Just doing this for one week can give you several lucid dreams.

      Why this works:
I did this technique the first week of my lucid dream training. I wasn't doing it to induce lucid dreams though. I just wanted to improve my recall. But it worked for both. I had 5 lucid dreams within the first three weeks. The reason that this works is because you condition your brain to become aware at certain times. When you wake up and write in your dream journal at the same time for several days, it trains your brain to become aware of dreams at that time of night. When I became lucid in these dreams, there was nothing like a reality check that gave me lucidity. It just hit me all of the sudden in the dream about that time of night. I don't know if anyone else thought of this method first, but if you're stuck in your training it might be worth a try.

      Thanks

And here, let me mention that it is important to note that a WILD is entirely optional during a WBTB, and is not an inherent part of the WBTB procedure. A WBTB can be used for LaBerge's MILD or just as itself (which is how I had my first lucid dream).

I usually go to bed around 12 every night. When I would wake my Self up around 6:30 for school I would be extremely tired. I decided to set my alarm to 5:00am every morning to give me the comfort of knowing I have another hour to sleep. Ever since I've started this my recall has being doing exceptionally well and hopefully I'll be attaining some more lucids pretty soon.

Yeah, you're right, it's a lot like the WBTB method. But the times that I had lucid dreams weren't on the days I used the alarm. They were on the off days. My brain is becoming conditioned to becoming aware at that time of night.

Yeah, I just read about the CAT technique since I wrote this thread. I didn't know it had a name, but I have been very successful with this technique.
