      REALIZATION???!! first post.

Hey all, I think I just made a stunning realization. First of all, let me introduce myself since this is my first post. My name is m0rfious and I have been a long (in fact very long) time lurker to many lucid dreaming forums including this one. Im an 18 year old guy, 19 in may, and Im currently attending northeastern university for electrical engineering. I have been studying lucid dreaming and out of body experiences since I was about 12 or 13 -- on and off; mostly focusing on out of body experiences since they seemed to be more interesting to me. I have been attempting to experience these since then, and have failed...which is why I have taken breaks for as long as a few years.

Anyways, whenever I tried to attempt an OBE, I would start my relaxation techniques. Id get very far into it, but was usually always held back by my reaction to swallow the lump that forms in my throat. There were some times where I could pass this point and "the vibrations" would come, but not as they normally do. They usually only started in my hands and maybe forearm. After these "vibrations" (just feels like my hands went to sleep) began in my hands, it felt like i could move another set of hands. I could force them down into the bed and make them float up.

Mind you, at this point, I am pretty relaxed, somewhat aware of my surroundings, and still seeing darkness behind my eyes. I cant move my hands anywhere except up and down because my arms are not moveable yet. I could probably get up and move at will physically if I wanted to. Now my realization, (I think?), is that at this point, I am actually lucid in a dream. All I would have to do is roll out of bed and stand up, demand for vision, and start the dream.

Now the only reason this makes sense to me is because sometimes when I wake up naturally, my arms feel dead asleep and I can move them around, through the bed, through the wall, etc... just like I can do when I perform my relaxation techniques for OBE. Maybe these are actually false awakenings, and the dead feeling arms are actually a dream sign?

I am going to attempt this tonight and report back.

PS. I am currently under the influence of some smoke -- if any of this doesnt make sense it will be edited later today so it will.

Well I attempted my expirement last night, and it seems I was wrong. But, I didnt put a lot of effort into trying because I was tired from all the schoolwork I had just finished. I am going to attempt the same thing every night for a week so I can get accurate results.

So what happens when you roll out of bed and crack your head open on the bedside table?
