      I just WILDed

It's about 5:43 right now, and I'm only getting up and posting this so I can try for a second round!

I woke up at 3, and finally relaxed enough to get to sleep at about 5. I started seeing all these crazy flashes, and then the sounds. My sounds were just a lot of beeps and screeches. Sounded almost like a modem, like my brain was "dialing in" to a lucid dream. It was awesome. I was totally aware the whole time. Then I looked and I was not in bed... I was at my computer screen. I thought I sleepwalked over there or something. I didn't realize it was a dream so I just played a game. What should have been a dead giveaway was that all the player records in this football game were set in years like 1563 or 5537.

I was pissed when I woke up, so I tried again. This time I was at the computer again. I was like "Why am I going to the damn computer again?" Then I looked at the clock and saw it said 10:07pm. Bingo. I felt my junk to make sure everything was there, then I walked out my door and turned on a light in a neighboring room. Nothing out of the ordinary there. I walked outside, and it was so cold. It was so realistic that I had to stop and reassure myself that it was a dream. I'm still in awe that I felt the cold wind when I opened the door. After I walked around and tried to control too much I woke up. I knew I would wake up too, but I really wanted to control something!

The sensation of going into the WILD was unbelievable. I felt myself lose control of my body, I just paralyzed. The first time, I tried to move because I didn't know what was happening, and I couldn't move. Then the flashing lights and sounds. It was amazing! I remember being excited upon hearing the sounds the second time, yet calm about it too. I found that when I tried to WILD, I just saw dumb colors and blurs like when you close your eyes, but when I didn't focus on it (not conciously at least), it just happened.

Congrats. Just try and stay calm so you can have more fun next time, and stay in longer. But don't sweat it if no one is able to stay in long they're first time unless they are Lucidgifted like Lucius. The older you get when you first Lucid freaks you out more.

This was my 6th lucid since I joined the board, but first WILD. Also, this was the first time I used a reality check. The other times I just sort of knew. 3 of those 6 were just 10-second dreams where I got so excited I woke up.

Thanks to all of you who posted information about WILDing on this board, it helped me a lot.

      If this helps anyone:

I went to bed at 10:45, falling asleep to my special "lucid dreaming music" (that's mostly placebo). I woke up at 3 (wristwatch), and read some stuff on the forum, wrote a paragraph of an essay, and listened to some music. Then at 3:30 I was back in bed. I fell asleep again about 5. What I did was I daydreamed up until sleep, and I think that kept my mind active when I went into sleep. Both WILDs were false awakenings.

Going into it was just amazing. It was like the colors when you close your eyes times 20, and the sounds are a real jolt to you. I thought people might have just had overactive imaginations, but that isn't the case.

      Poor Seeker!

      and congrats!

as everyone, especially paperdoll says, NEVER, EVER GET EXCITED-EVER.

I need a map of your head, translated into English so I can learn to not make you frown.
You’d feel better if you’d vent, put your frustrations into four letter words and let them out on mine, the most weathered ears in town.
