I have an idea. For inducing a lucid dream, maybe you could try to force yourself to dream about something, and remind yourself to do an RC when you are in that setting.
In greater detail, think about a certain place or situation a lot during the day and visualize it before going to bed, too. Remind yourself several times to do a reality check when you are in that place. If you happen to be in that place in real life (it is better if that place is in real life so you can do an RC while you are in it for practice), do a reality check. Hopefully you will dream about that place. If you do, you will do a RC in the dream and become lucid!
Do you think this could work?

EDIT: Contrarily, you could think about that place a lot and do an RC whenever you think about it.

Hmmm, i've always known about "Dream Incubation" but ya, it would be really useful in this way because you would automatically know that your dreaming based on the situation you have made!
