      Question Was I Lucid?

Right, i've been trying to lucid dream a lot for the last 2 months i've had some close calls but im never really sure when im actully lucid. heres my example from last night.

"I flew towards the mountains, I knew it was a dream. A face appeared behind the mountains, forming from the stars, an evil face. I took my pointer finger and began changing the shape of the stars and turned it into a smiling face. I taught to myself how great this was. I landed on the ground and started running and bouncing into the air as if I was on the moon. I was shouting at the top of my voice "I am dreaming!!". I felt no fear of consequences. Than I started shouting "increase lucidity!!". The world would become a bit crisper for a few seconds than dull than until I said it again. As I ran along the road cars drove past me which I found to be very realistic."

Anyway, once I woke up what I remembered of the dream was much duller than in the dream. It felt like an ordinary dream as I think about it as if i wasn't in control at all. But than I think of the actual dream and how I felt and it feels way stronger, as if it was defiantly a lucid dream.

What do you guys think? Thanks for reading all this.

By the way I never used a reality check to obtain what I taught was lucidity, it just happened.

You knew you were dreaming, so it was a lucid dream. It can happen that you are aware that you're dreaming, but have no control over what happens in that dream. It takes some practice to be able to fully control your dreams.

      Hope this helps

It was a lucid dream, but the problem is in your recall. Read this thread I opened, and I think you will relate: http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/dream-...ing-up-114524/

The problem is, after you wake up, the memories of your dream are not as vivid, while in the dream you remember being amazed at the clarity and vividness, as well as knowing you're dreaming. After awakening it just seems like a dull and lifeless dream. Am I right? If so, then you need to focus on your recall. Aside from regularly writing in your Dream Journal (which is a must), you also need to read past entries from time to time, and also focus on the slightest details you remember. That way, I think, your recall will improve, and your memories will be much clearer.

I'm gonna BUMP this as I'm curious as well. You were undoubtedly lucid, my question is; do all spontaneous (DILD) lucid dreams feel like normal ones after we awaken? Blah- I recommend trying a WILD, never having a lapse in consciousness will likely make you feel more like you had a lucid dream when you awake.

Lucid Dream goals: (O=done, could be better. X=done.)» (Fly -X)» (Talk to my DC friend - ) (Have a WILD - ) (Have sex - ) (Meet my DG - ) (Go through a wall or window -X) (Go to space - ) (Go to Pandora - ) (Conjure things -O ) (Complete a task of the month - )
