Welcome to the forum, samf. Well, those are called Reality Checks (RCs). If you seriously want to find out, try pinching yourself, or wishing for an ice cream cone. If you feel no pain, or an ice cream cone appears, then you'll know!! |

Hey, I'm new here, I found out about Lucid Dreaming yesterday and about this site and I really wan't to have this experience. But, when I dream I don't know how to get myself to check if it's a dream or not. I just do whatever, or I think. Does anyone know what I mean and know how to help? |

Basically, periodically do reality checks during the waking hours. And keep a dream journal, to help your dream recall. Then you can go on to stuff like finding your dreamsigns, and trying different techniques for inducing LDs like MILD and WILD. |
