      Was this SP or placebo?

So was trying to LD the other night.

I was using SilverBullets guide and WBTB. Wierd thing is this happened as i was falling asleep at night AND after i woke up and went back to sleep after 5 hours.

Normally sleep on side or front, I was trying to sleep on my back. Wasnt very tired so it took almost 2 hours. About an hour in all of a sudden it felt like my body was super heavy being pulled down by gravity, tried to move a bit and couldnt, opened my eyes and after about 20 seconds i was able to move again. That happened a few times before i fell asleep. Same thing after WBTB. Sleep paralysis or just placebo?

If it happens again, what should i do next time?

You obviously don't know what placebo means.

I didnt explain why I thought it could be sort of a placebo effect

I felt a vibrating which could have been something else, and heard a strange sound, but i considered that it might be because I was entering SP, so everything from that point on could have been a placebo. On top of that, I was able to easily move after a few seconds, which doesnt sound right for SP.

Anyways, next time i get SP what exactly should I do, I felt pretty awake and aware while it happened.

A placebo effect is when something works only because a person believes it will work, there isn't any actually foundation to the technique, its just a confidence boost. Thats what placebo is.

So, you tell me. Was it a placebo?

Haha, your body gave you several chances to have a wake induced lucid dream yet you didn't accept the offer.

Next time, leave your eyes closed and transition into a dream.

Yeah, definitely don't open your eyes or try to move. I usually concentrate on the shifting blobs and colored splotches moving around inside my eyelids. As you near SP they'll start to turn into actual images and begin to take on more solidity. Then they'll start moving around and become a dream. By watching this and counting my breaths - count up to ten and then start over, makes you have to think a bit more, so keeps up awareness - I try to keep my mind occupied and aware, and then let the dream form.
