I am working on a replay function for Lucid Scribe in order to improve the dream detection algorithm. This is the first entry on LSDBase.org and shows the vibrations, then normal rapid eye movement (REM) with around 3 heartbeats between each blink and a brief spurt of lucidity when the anthem is triggered. This was recorded between 04h47 and 04h48.
For the uninitiated:
Lucid Scribe Database is an online sleep and consciousness research database documenting the effects of lucidity on dreams. I monitor and record my sleep every other night with a halograph Frequency Monitor, a headband with a motion detector that is sensitive enough to pick up the heartbeat and can thus easily detect rapid eye movement. The device is connected via USB to my laptop and it plays a song whenever I am dreaming. I can sometimes hear the songs in my dreams and act on that knowledge - by flying, for example.
I have been posting a screenshot of the most interesting 60 seconds every other day and will now start uploading videos. The entire sessions can also be downloaded as Comma Separated Values (CSV) or Lucid Scribe Data (LSD) files. The orange line (fREM) in the graph is when it detected blinking and played the anthem. The other lines are just a measure of the motion around my eyes, sampled 10 times per second.
Aspiring sleep, dream and consciousness researchers are invited to sift through the data and comment on any interesting observations that I have missed...
