Why Won't My Mind Realize I'm Dreaming

Guys, I just don't get it. I have the weirdest, most unrealistic dreams in the world and I still can not force myself to preform a reality check or even stop and say "Is this a dream?" I just let it all happened.

Like 1 dream, I was driving down a road, then appeared at an amusement park. There, I was on a ride with this really fat lady and she fell off into the water and her lung came out. The lung was as big as her stomach. She walked up to a staff person at the park and said "Excuse, my lung fell out, where can I get this fixed" Then staff member then pointed at a directory and pointed to a Nose Shop looking icon. I followed her there, then fell of dock, then got into a fist fight.

While I'm on this "rant", begging for advice, can someone please tell me this.

In my dreams, I can NOT ... WHAT SO EVER ... punch like a real human being. In my dreams, it feels as if I am punching in water, when not in water at all. It feels like my punches are slow and unaffective. That happens in a lot of dreams. So how can I make my mind go "OMG YOU PUNCHED SLOW! YOU'RE IN A DREAM?!"?

On the same boat! The one and only times I attained lucidity, was after a series of dreams that were very similar (me falling out of a flying object like a small plane). During the last one, my uncle was driving it, the helicopter had no walls, and I was slipping. I told my mother I was falling and she said not to worry we'll be landing soon. For some reason, it just *clicked* that I was dreaming with no effort on my part. I attribute it to the series of dreams that happened back-to-back.. I'm putting all my effort into realizing it in dreams it's so tricky

In a normal dream state your thinking isn't critical. It accepts things without consideration because the part of the brain that considers is inactive for the most part. Preparing your self for lucid dreaming is like setting up loads of traps in the dream world so that when you're stumbling about blindly you eventually get caught in one and have an amazing realization.

Try consciously telling yourself you are about to enter a dream right before you fall asleep. Often you start a dream lucid this way. Its how I get about half of mine.

Dude I have the SAME EXACT problems with dreams you do, while I'm still trying to figure out gaining lucidity throughout the most silly dreams I know exactly while your punches feel like putty. When you throw a punch at something it sorta like dies out and your arm feels all weird right? I had the very same problem, the thing is that it is all mental. Basically you view yourself as kinda weak (in terms of throwing punches) and now subconsciously you always feel your punches are weak. Again the same thing happened to me.

I basically cured it by throwing punches at my friends arms when they messed with me haha. It may sound stupid but when you see their face contort with pain when you hit them it helps a TON with the mentality that you can do some damage. You just have to sort of condition your mind that your fist can do some damage, and that people react to your fist. I'm not saying go and deck somebody in the face, because that's pretty messed up but if your friends mess with you way and you want a way to get back at them, just sock them in the arm, it makes you feel stronger that you can leave a nasty bruise on somebody, even if it's just playfully.

Lol Achieve Dream Control by Beating Up Your Friends..

And if you really want Dream Mastery, just carve them up into pieces and dispose of the evidence..
