FesterClot, how long have you had this device (i.e., how many nights have you worn it where it induced a LD)?

$349US... Holy crap!

That's an insane price, especially since it's scientifically unproven. Even if it were, it shouldn't be priced that high if you look at good brand heart rate monitors.

Well.. i guess its cheap compared to the $700 novadreamer.

That is an insane price. A similar device, not as fancy, could be build much cheaper.

Electrodermal response will work better, but hey, heart rate is cheaper to work with and does the same trick

And actually, it's exactly what I intended Seeker, only I wanted to stream it through the PC as well. At least until we got the detection logic worked out nicely.
But I reckon you know that already, since we spent quite a bit of time chatting about it.

Now if only I wasn't an electronics dummy, I could finish a prototype

One thing that bothers me ... if the device works so well, then why are they developing their second version to use the night goggles again ?

And I wonder why they decided on a wrist *and* ankle band. Do you HAVE to use both of them, fester?

The thing that bothered me was when they stated that they will only take checks or money orders.. no credit cards. Perhaps they don't want the added expense of processing credit card orders.. or could it be that its too easy to reverse the charge when you've used a credit card and have decided that you want your money back?

Plus I didn't see where they had any type refund policy if you were dissatisfied (i.e., a 30 day satisfaction guarantee or your money back). For that much money, I'd really like to know their refund policy!

That being said, FesterClot, please advise how long you've had the device and, out of all the nights you wore it, how many resulted in lucid dreams. Thanks!

Sorry, maybe that's unfair, but FesterClot has only made 3 posts in the forum, and 2 of them are pushing the DreamQ -- the third being an afterthought mentioning the Nova Dreamer. I can't help but be suspicious of the motives here.

Seeing that FesterClot's posts have all been telling us to go to some website and buy a product wouldn't this be considered spam? He's already advertised the same product in 2 different threads that he started yet he hasn't told us about his experience with the product. Just thought I would point that out. I guess if he started making posts other than ones trying to sell us stuff I would feel differently.

Well, yeah, I see all your points about him being a sales rep - it's quite possible.

However, let's not all jump on this member too quickly - I mean, we don't want to make anyone feel like they have to be cautious when submitting some kind of idea, technique or product to the site.

Sure, there's a fine line between informing / teaching and pushing / preaching (most of you know what I'm referencing here).

So what's my point? Ummm, how about we get a mod to just put a disclaimer that reads something like:

I don't think I'd buy something just because it's relatively cheap. It actually has to be fairly priced.

280 bucks no way i can do it for free half the time, i guess if your not like me and make 140 a week bagging groceries you might get it but i aint wasting the cash but if i was i would go with the real thing and just spring for the nova dreamer

The DreamQ Lite just seems to sound like it's not worth $100 bucks. Just sounds like a foam eye covers with LED lights in them. I mean it would probably be worth picking up the parts and making a homemade one.

Check with an Athletics Goods store for a Heart Monitor that beeps or vibrates at certain heart rate thresholds. You can get one for a whole lot less than $300. You can get something for half that amount that can be hooked up to your computer and print out a report of your heart rate activity across several Sleep Cycles... so that you will even have some idea if your heart rate does indeed change while in REM. Some people have supposed that heart rate only significantly changes during a dream only if the dream becomes erotic... if you start humping the mattress.

On another thread, somebody found that the DreamQ thing, or whatever it is called, was simply another company's Sports Heart Monitor with a 200% markup in price. You are paying somebody twice their cost of buying the Sports Watch Monitor retail, and then sending it to you. Jeepers, after about a year of that, those same people will be giving Weekend Seminars on how easy it is to get Rich. Honestly, people, we should make them work alittle bit for it, shouldn't we?
