Well, after many, many lucid dreams, and reading up heavily on the subject I've decided to write up what I believe to be the main points to lucid dreaming. And so, here they are.

1. After looking into mainy posts on this forum, and the conditions of my own dreams, I have found that most lucid dreams occur after the dreamer is extremely tired. Now this includes the WBTB method. You go to sleep, wake up a few hours later, and then proceed to go to sleep again WHILE in this fatigued state. Now with this, I'll lead into my next condition for lucid dreaming.

2. A "clear" mind. I have been looking through the forums and most lucid dreams (mine included) happen when the dreamer give up hope of lucid dreaming. This means that the mind is not as hellbent on lucid dreaming and is in a "clear" state. This is of the upmost importance. You MUST NOT be obsessing about lucid dreaming, you have to just let the thought graze the back of your mind.

3.This is possibly the single most important thing in lucid dreaming. One must not be stressed out in any way,shape or form. This is why most kids, when starting school cannot have lucid dreams. The stress of having to wake up early, the stress of homework ect...

4. Make sure you have the time to spend on lucid dreaming. Yes, I know it sounds funny, but lucid dreaming does take time to master (if one can master it). If you do not have the time, it can make you feel 'rushed' to do it. this leads back to my last point, stress. You rush yourself, you get stressed, that simple.

5. A very important factor (well, all of these are) is confidence. This has helped me alot through out my dreaming escapades. You should go to bed at night and KNOW that lucid dreaming is so easy it's not even funny. Picture it as a computer terminal in your brain that you just need to 'activate' before you go to sleep. But As I've stated before, DO NOT STRESS IT. Think of it like this, I'm going to have a lucid dream tonight and thats all there is to it, after you think this just let it go, go to sleep normally, occasionally letting the thought of lucid dreaming graze the back of your mind. Do not go to sleep saying "I wonder if I'm going to have a lucid dream tonight, boy I really hope I do" These thoughts just push lucid dreaming further and further away..

6. This is my final point. If you can find SAFE things to help 'enhance' your chances of lucid dreaming, by all means do so, but DO NOT GO OVERBOARD. I've met people that have an obsession with some herbal products because they believe they can not do it alone. This is not true, its inside of all of us and quite easy to get to... If you are running a dry spell (which sucks) you can use alittle magnisium and b6 to try to get back on track, but don't go insane with the stuff, just use it as a booster for yourself...


Keep in mind this is for all who want some pointers from a "veteran" dreamer. And also keep in mind, these points may not work for all, but from what I've looked at over my time here, these are the most prevalent qualities...
