Question How long does it usually take to acquire lucidity?

I've been focusing on the DILD technique for more than a month and i haven't had any results. should i give up dild and try WILD? it's just the idea of Wild kind of frightens me. i tried it once and i got scared of the feeling it gave me, and apparently you start seeing images and even hearing voices?! If anyone has successfully done WILD please explain more about the transition as i am sure there is more to it. And how long did it take for you to have your first lucid?

Time that it takes to achieve first lucid dream varies alot from person to person, for me personally it took like a week, some people can get it on the first try while others need alot more time, think positive and keep practicing!
I suggest checking this thread about some good information on DILD: http://www.dreamviews.com/dild-gab/1...ods-dilds.html
As for WILD, there's nothing to be scared about, hallucinations can't harm and they even can be controlled, don't think about scary things and they don"t happen, and even if happen think about good things. But they are not aim of WILD, for WILD you just need to fall asleep while keeping awareness, check out those tutorials if you want to try it:

      WILD
Also check out this thread for more info on entry types: http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...ntry-wild.html
Whether to choose WILD or DILD is up to you, it varies from person to person which one works better, i personally use both methods since for me they work well together.

At the very beginning it's all about the dream journal my friend. (I STILL absolutely hate it too)
When you occupy yourself with lucid dreaming while keeping a consistent dream recall you'll skyrocket your chances.
