Very Vivid dream, but still cant become lucid. Thoughts?

Last night I drank a glass of milk and took a B6 pill. Half way through the night I woke up and tried the technique where you alternate your two fingers like your playing the piano. Well that didnt work so I tried to go to sleep but couldnt untill an hour later.

In the mourning I woke up vividly remembering 3-4 of my dreams. The thing that upset me was that my dreams were unmistakably unrealalistic and there were a number of times where I should have realized I was dreaming. One dream even had numerous dinosaurs. Ive been doing reality checks throughout the day but can never seem to do one when im dreaming. I have only been doning RCs for a week or so.

So im curious is there something more I can do, or do I just need to have a little more patience?

ya i think it's patience that did it for me. though also try doing WBTB MILD, thats how i've gotten both of mine, and hopefully more to come. try to be more aware of everything while you're awake too.

For some reason me being the uber ld'er that i am j/k have just been realizing all the sudden i am dreaming it happens 9/10 times now for instance.

I had a dream i was doing a permanent wheelie on my bike and was riding on the streets and what not and this did not seem strange to me then a girl rode up next to me on a bike and i looked at her and it hit me i was dreaming *BRING ON THE DREAM CONTROL* yea so I have done 1 reality check in a dream so far (the watch method or time method) and the rest i just realized i was dreaming just takes patience i suppose.

Ya last night I had a dream where alot of peoples faces seemed bigger than normall actually a lot bigger and all the sudden it hit me. Am I Dreaming?

But right after that I woke up I guess because of excitement. I think I just need more experience.

the exact same happened to me yesterday on my first time trying (I found out about lucid dreams on the day I tried) I got woke up from excitement I’ve got another post up here about my dream it should still be on the first page...

it also has some clues to how I became lucid. it was my 1st day and I think I see a pattern

      Dream sign

That is good that you are remembering your dreams that well. And because of that, you may want to pick out and find a dream sign. Something in your dreams that in reacurring and prevelant. When you can pick something that stands out, tell yourself ....next time I see (whatever it is you picked out) I will become lucid. Or I will do a reality check.
In addition to that when you really do see this dream sign in waking life, that would be the ideal time to do a thorough reality check.

      I can relate completely.

Very often (a majority of the time) my dreams are very vivid and realistic.

It occurs to me (IWL) that I should be able to go lucid quite easliy.

But I never do. I always get caught up in the moment and and am happy
to "Play along", without realizing that I 'm playing along.

I agree with Howetzer, I should try and find a symbol.

The only trigger I have ever experienced was when a bystander mentioned
something about "being in this dream". And I was like "OH YEA"

      let's change something!

and I morphed the whole scene to outer space, which is where I LOVE to be...

Do you choose a symbol, or should you let one choose you?

The only thing I have had recurring is wierd technology that does not exist here.

I think maybe If I just tell myself before sleeping to watch for "unusal technology"
      it will work....

It;s still a little ambiguous though....

      hmmm........

You might try being as aware as possible of everything going on around you during the day, trying to notice anything unusual or out of the ordinary, or anything that just sticks out, such as a beautiful flower, a different scent in the air that you suddenly notice, or anything else that just sticks out in any way, and then while being aware of these things ask yourself if these things are real or if they are occuring to you in a dream.

I call these types of checks awareness checks, and they seem to be helping me more than reality checks ever did, as the constant state of being aware of what is going on around me during the day is starting to carry over into my dreams by making me more aware of what is happening in my dreams, which even sometimes helps me to realize that I am dreaming.
