      Need Some Advice

Hey all, I have been coming to the site for over a week now, just desided to join. I have had LD's in the past but never knew what they were, which brought me to the site after i did a search for "controlling dreams". Well i have a question, in the past week i have had 3 dreams which i thought were LD's. they all go like this, im in the middle of a dream, and i just say "im dreaming" then for the next 20 seconds or so i kinda go along with the dream till it fades away and i wake up. I dont think that these dreams were real LD's because I have it planned out for when i realize that im dreaming, 1. do a RC 2. stay calm and just look around and try to use the techniques to make it more clear and such. Out of the 3 dreams I have not done either of those. It just seams like it was all part of the dream and i never really had any control. Does anyone else have/had this problem and does anyone have and advice that can help me get over this?

If you realized it was a dream, then it was a lucid dream. Next time this happens, continue to go along with the dream, but, this time, examine everything in your dream as critically as possible. Look at things, pick up things, smell things. Try to engage the dreamstate as fully as you possibly can.

Like Seeker said, if you knew you were dreaming, these experiences are LDs Just try experiment around next time, try not to go too crazy on trying to control stuff as this might mess up your dream's stability. Try the stuff Seeker suggested And as you gain more stability you can do more and more! You're on the right path

Hey seeker, thanks for the tips, i'm definitely going to try that next time i'm lucid...instead of trying to control everything, i'm just going to enjoy the 'experience' of being lucid...
seems i'm learning to do that alot lately...

What they said. There are times when you wont do a RC and you'll just immediately recognize it's a dream. In my personal experience(expecially in the beginning) I find it best to detach yourself from the plot of your dream, the characters and maybe the environment because they all can distract you from whatever your real goal is.

Hey, sorry to bring back my old topic.. I had another lucid dream, but again it didnt seem to be lucid. I was having a dream inside my dream, and my dream character said "i must be dreaming" and started using the techniques to get lucid again. it sorta worked for a few minutes but my dream character woke up and then i woke up. my whole body was numb which was kool but i had to get up for school. I had no control over anytihng in the dream which makes me think i was not lucid, just like my first dream. I hope one day i will break through this and have a real lucid dream. lol
