      Was I close?

Hi, Just discovered this site 3 days ago and I've been hooked on getting an LD since. I got into the habit of doing Reality Checks all day, and also keeping a dream journal. First night it went well, I wrote down 2 dreams the following morning which I remembered. I think my dream recall is, and has been pretty good. Anyways today I attempted at a WILD, but without the sleeping and waking up part. So I went to school today and I was so tired coming back home...almost fell asleep on the bus. So I ate and went to my room and thought hey I think this is a good time to try a WILD. I went along with the steps....counting...telling myself " 1 I am dreaming... 2 I am dreaming... ". After a while I started getting bodily twitches...I ignored this and kept counting, focusing on staying conscious. Lots of bodily twitches were happening, it was weird. And I felt this electricity-like feeling moving up my legs. Soon my feet then my arms and hands felt paralyzed. I admit though, at this point I started drifting off into thoughts, I may have gotten a little excited. Anyways I still felt paralyzed, counting...im up to 500 something now and then I start to feel as if I'm spinning, like crazy!!! And then I thought, omg I'm almost there. Almost there!!! And then I started thinking of lots of things, just random stuff and my eyelids started to blink very very rapidly. I then poof I lost it somehow, I think I breathed in heavily...was I close to having an LD?

      Aww, I'm stuck there too.

      Congratulations on getting so far!

It was probably excitement. This is very hard to get past...

I'm afraid you may have to think of your own ways to overcome this hurdle.

Thanks for letting me know! I'll continue to find a way to overcome this hopefully.

The only times I've gotten to that point, or past that point wasn't by being able to stay aware. Instead, somehow I woke up right as those things were happening, and just tried to stay along for the ride, but never was able to get through it.

Another time, I was able to WILD was by waking up right before I started dreaming.

When i first started getting close like that, i would start to imagine going either out of my body to get a OBE or i would just keep asking the question "am I dreaming, is this real".
Those work best for me but everybody has there ways.
