Question How to properly do WILD?

Ok so ive attemted WILD quite a few times already and the latest one I feel has been the closest. I decided to attempt a WILD at around 8:30 am and after around an hour I couldnt feel my body. I dont understand whats next though. Some people say SP, yes I know thats not the goal, some people say auditory or visual HI. I don't get any of them. Is it because I should be doing WILD later in the day? Maybe 1 hour is too short? Does anyone know what I did wrong?

If you're doing it all right but it's just the timing you're asking about.. Then you should WILD with a WBTB 5~7 hours after you sleep at night. If not, then i ended up writing down my method of WILDing, or rather my understanding of it.

      _____________________________________

This is all according to how i do it personally. My WILD attempts last from 10~20 minutes by average. 1 hour is too long.

I might be wrong somewhere, but i'll try to help.

General Description of what a WILD is:
A WILD is falling asleep while keeping awareness, which means that you must prioritize falling asleep. If you can't fall asleep, you can't WILD.

As general info, you shouldn't WILD while going to sleep first at night, do it with WBTB after some hours of sleep at night.

WILDing is the same as normally sleeping, except that you use something to keep your mind awake. Don't do things like forcing yourself to stay still or to not swallow saliva if they just keep you uncomfortable and prevent you from sleeping. Everyone's different.

WILD is falling asleep with awareness, then what? How you keep your awareness through?

You use an anchor/mantra. It is something that keeps your mind awake. Doing something repetitive like counting, repeating a phrase/word or focusing on your breath. Of course, you do these mentally, don't actually say the numbers out loud or something like that.

It's important that you do not think in your head while doing this. Also, don't wait for anything to happen, just do it intending to fall asleep!

      In Summary:
      * Intend to fall asleep.
      * Don't wait for the dream or hallucinations or anything else to happen!
      * Do the anchor or mantra.
      * Quiet your mind from any inner-talk.

Basically, it's like being in a "zombie" state. Almost like you're unconscious. Barely awake.
By doing the anchor and not doing anything else, you will stay "barely awake" and thus you keep your awareness and fall asleep at the same time. Ignore hallucinations, don't bother thinking about them. Just do the technique and you will eventually reach a dream.

Of course, this is how i do it. May not work for you, it works for me though.
You can search up tutorials from BillyBob or read the Sageous WILD class threads.

Ok thabks for the great advice. I think my problem was focusing to much on staying still. Ive never really looked at trying to fall asleep while staying awake. I see my problem now. I will reply on how it goes after tonight.

Good luck with that. And though you might actually experience hallucinations, ignore them by occupying your mind with counting and such. It also works to WILD as a nap, my attempts were all at nap times.

Mine are different from anything ive read. Its like im laying still but after a little while it feels like im spinning on a 3 - axe astronaut training sphere. So ill be spinning in all directions and with a slight vibrations and even when i feel like im upside down it will feel like gravity has attached me to my bed. After a while I just stop having the feeling and I dont really know what to do. This only happens during the day when I try it. At night I usually have a numbness but nothing happens much.

      Any suggestions?
