      WBTB and FILD?

Hello everyone, I've been reading on Reddit that many people do FILD with WBTB. I've never heard of any FILD tutorial using WBTB, in fact most preach against it fervently. I find WILD a pain in the ass (literally and figuratively) and would love to become lucid without SP and such. Does anybody find WBTB/FILD better than ordinary FILD? All feedback is appreciated

WBTB with FILD is not the wisest choice according to my experiences, but it still can be pulled off (as long as you don't look at any backlit screens). Just be determined and you'll do it.

But, why use FILD when you can do DEILD? It's really simple and requires no supplemental techniques like WBTB. Just wake up, keep your eyes closed, stay still, and re enter the dream. I highly suggest looking for a full tutorial on the forum.

Do this... its based on the DEILD technique:

1- Before going to bed spend 3-5 minutes repeating "When I wake up during the night I don't move a muscle or open my eyes" or something similar
2- You will eventually find yourself awake in the night or early morning and will recall this petition, follow it, don't move or open your eyes!
3- Start picturing anything such as your last recalled dream or any setting you want, for example picture yourself walking through a forest, feel the wind, the soil, etc. Make it as real as you can.
4- Once you start seeing what you pictured or any other setting start engaging it... move! touch things!. Once it feels solid enough proceed with whatever you want to do.

Its by far the technique i have had more success with
Zaephr, Dom343 and Spock like this.

I do FILD only with a short WBTB (no more than couple of minutes, like a pee break or new position).

      The reason:
If you haven't moved then there is no sense doing FILD, since DEILD / CHILD / jzinser's version above are far more superior methods. However, sometimes happens to me that I move / open my eyes - in which case it is usually too late to do the DEILD / CHILD / jzinser's methods... However, FILD that requires slightly less drowsiness might still work.
So based on my experience - I'll go with DEILD / CHILD / jzinser's if I can. But if not, like if I have to pee, and don't want to wait 10 more minutes for a SSILD or 20+ more minutes for WILD - I'll just go pee, avoid lights, and do a FILD.
