Question regarding REM and lucid dreams

How long do you have to sleep until REM? And do lucid dreams only occur during REM?

Depends. I have droped into intense REM in minutes. Or you can have more during the morning hours. Not something that can be determined.

The best dreams happen when your eyes are rapidly moving. If there is no REM then most believe that there is no dreams.

So if I were to take a 2 hour nap there is a chance of me having a vivid dream, not necessarily lucid? I'm working on increasing my dream recall.

Yup I will back up curios here, you can get some wild dreams during powernaps, I NEVER get a full 8 hours of sleep, (I work nights, sleeping during the day blows) I looked at the clock, passed out had an intense LD and wake up, look at the clock and only a few minuts have passed.

I agree with curious...I've had my best lucid dreams during naps....Here's a funny example. I was having new floors put in, and the guys came at like 7:30 on my day off, so I was like I'm going back upstairs closeing the door and going back to sleep....well aside from the noise I was able to have one of my first reality check induced lucid dreams, but like usual I could'nt figure out what to do with my new found freedom....I was gonna strip down and streak infront of the workers, but I chickened out cause the dream felt too real
