last night I smoked some weed and went up to my room to try a WILD. I wasn't sure how far I was going to get because I'd had a very trying day (death in family). I'd remembered a post I saw on here about trying to WILD with the TV on so you could know the exact moment you fell asleep, although I often find it difficult to fall asleep with the tv on I decided it couldn't hurt to try and see what effects, if any, I would have. i was watching Boxing. I began focusing on the hallucinogenic scenes which appeared almost instantly as i shut my eyes. dream imagery was good and i was able to manipulate seperate images simultaneously with intent on both the left and right sides of closed eye visual field. then i forced out the light from the tv and my aquarium so that i was not simply playing off of phosphenes (the sensation caused from light's pressure on the eyelids). i let my body fall asleep and went with the visuals, i began spinning and got the usual feeling before "fallling" into a lucid...well the noise from the TV would not allow me to fully enter the dream state..I was able, for about 30 seconds, to completely shut out the noise, but was pulled away from entering an LD by the cheering fans. for about 40 minutes I allowed myself to "float" around in that state...aware of my sleeping body, the phosphenes shut out, my eyes essentially rolled into the back of my head, focussing on hypnagogic imagery, updated on the fight, and spinning, spinning (i say spinning but i also refer to the vibrations commonly associated with WILD)so much that I was uneasy because i had never for so long been stuck between the conscious waking world and the conscious sleeping world. eventually my experiences became so strange and esoteric to me i forced myself back to awake. during this time I was caught in this sort of continuum I cannot even really bring words to describe my emotions and thoughts, but I will say they were REMARKABLY similar to a psycilocybin experience, in that it was almost as though I had dosed on mushrooms and had a 40 minute experience. anyone familiar with the mushrooms will understand how strange your thought patterns can be during an experience, and I had done all of this without ingesting anything other than some weed. the amount of concentration required to remain in that state for so long left me mentally exhausted and I slept terribly through the night, waking ang shifting positions, never entering an LD. Previously while trying for a WILD I take anywhere between 10 seconds to 10-12 minutes from the first closing of my eyes to full blown LD and vibrations/spinning have NEVER lasted more than 5 minutes, also when I have been able to WILD with the TV on I have always been able to block the sound out, I think the loud cheering and energy from the boxing fight is what enabled me to be stuck in some sort of awake-sleep purgatory for such a long time. |
